    Hi all
I have an Acer Aspire 6530 and my brother did something to it which resulted in everything having to be wiped and re-installed. He took care of it for me but doesnt seem to have got the bluetooth driver re-installed. Any one any ideas how i go about this or what do i have to do?

Googling Acer 6530 drivers is usually a good start. Link

What operating system are you running? Is it vista?

yea its vista unfortuneately, it used to work by pressing a button but it hasnt worked since it was wiped. I tried googling it but not sure whether to trust some of the websites that came up, one was called driver robot, ever heard of it??

according to the posts here you should install acer's own ePower management suite, i think according to memory it's a 132MB file

But first i'd check in the BIOS to see is there an option to turn on the wireless functions, or an "Fn" button combination to try.

Then once the bluetooth device is turned on, windows should detect the new hardware and install the drivers.

"driver robot" is just an application that detects the UNIDENTIFIED hardware in your computer and installs the drivers, its of no use if it cannot detect the hardware, which is what's happening to you right now :(
