Did you see about the 3 guys in the WI v Aust match being suspended/fined over a bit of a scuffle........imagine what it would be like if rugby or football type "fouls/behaviour" entered the sport...............

Why am I not surprised that it was Haddin and Johnson?

Benn was the aggressor and he is the only one to receive a ban

He has been aggresive in every session so far, its normally Watson who gets the wind up from him though. He has been warned by umpires to back off and this ban will hopefully give him the kick in the ass he needs

Nothing against a bit of banter myself, but some of the incidents with him were just stupid

Chris Gayle labels Shane Watson 'soft' after final Test celebration

Watson was fined over extravagant celebration
Gayle says Australia all-rounder is 'so easy' to wind up

The Test series may be over but the war of words between the Australia all-rounder Shane Watson and Chris Gayle continued today when the West Indies captain labelled his rival "soft". Speaking in Perth, where he has linked up with his new Western Australia team-mates ahead of the Big Bash competition, Gayle took a dim view of Watson's claim that he was provoked into his extravagant celebration of Gayle's wicket during the final Test.

Watson had Gayle caught behind just before lunch on the fourth day of the last Test, the captain's wicket crucial to Australia pulling off a 35-run win at the Waca the next day. But Watson celebrated by striding down the pitch and screaming in Gayle's face as the batsman calmly walked from the field, and has subsequently been charged by ICC referee Chris Broad with bringing the game into disrepute and fined 15% of his match fee.

"It's one of those things," Gayle said today, somewhat light-heartedly. "He said I bait him. (But) you asked me the question earlier if I catch fish - maybe I might use him as a bait to catch a fish. He's so easy to get wound up over silly things.

"Yeah, he's soft. He only looks big and strong but he's soft."

The ongoing war of words between the sides appears the culmination of some steadily building tension that saw Dwayne Bravo and an injured Ricky Ponting clash on the first day of the third Test, before Sulieman Benn's now infamous run-in with Mitchell Johnson and Brad Haddin led to more punishments being dished out.

There were even Aussies who cringed at the celebration..

Looks like he'll get the 100 finally for Australia today against Pakistan

Imagine if I was playing tennis and I jumped over the net and kicked the poo poo out of the other player or while playing chess I nuted the other dood in the head cause I thought his defence is too negative. Poo poo always gets real in the Connect 4 world championship. Oh wait, they are not full contact sports... nvm

I would've laughed quite loudly if Rauf held on. "Century Jinx"

Pakistan doing better than I thought..170/3. Maybe they'll hold out, but wouldn't be putting anyone's money on it. They do need Younus Khan to get back quick..

Mitchell Johnson takes 2 wickets in successive balls in the first over of the day - Pakistan 171/5 and the match looks pretty much over

    Aggro spinners.

I just don't get it. Specially as he is about 7 foot tall, I'm sure he could get some bounce on it.

The Aussies get away with sledging. I have to say that Haddin did not help the cause by pointing the bat at Benn. At the end of the over I think Benn was trying to point at haddin but Mitchell got in the way and it looked worse.

There have been numerous cases where the Aussies have gone too far but seem to get away with it.

Hopefull the Pakistani's will be more confident in the 2nd test and get off to a good start. They basically lost the 1st test in the Aussie 1st innings. The old saying ' catches win matches' should be all over the Pakistani dressing room

Can't hope for much more than 127 all out albeit on a helpful wicket

Australia 67-7 at tea, 2-2 Ponting first ball duck, 10-3...horrendous shot from Haddin..

Interesting how Pakistan hold out now...

    Eh?

Not sure what you mean, but if its meant to be snide or imply that I'm trolling, don't bother explaining.

To be honest with you kryogen the Pakistani's bottled it big time. The start of the day the field they set was one which sent vibes that they were not confident in their ability to close out the match. The Brains or lack of in Pakistan's case set out with the wrong strategy. they should have been all over Siddle at start of play. men around bat. Mohammed Yousef is an amazing batsman but not a captin. They need the old cap back but the politics are not Younis Khan back.
Anyway fair play to the Aussies they had the mental toughness to beat the Pakistani's.
Hopefully by playing more test cricket with a proper leader the Pakistani's will get better.

Hopefully they will roll over England in the summer.

apart from Umar they all looked terrified in the chase thew lad deserves better than the mugs he plays with.
They will get whipped by England in the summer as well, they are not a good test side really.

I would have to disagree with you there. In terms of Raw talent they are streets haead of England. They need leadership. I am of the opinion they need Younis Khan and a foreign coach who knows Cricket. The monkeys they have in place besides Waqar Younis don't have a clue.

No foreign coach with any sense will touch Pakistan with a long barge pole due to security issues in the country. Maybe an inspirational person like Imran Khan may be the guy who can gel these guys together. Again politics in Pakistan will determine who gets in. Often its not the right person. Since Bob Woolmer passed away, Pakistan have no guidence.

Raw talent isn’t enough really, they were pretty average against a very mediocre New Zealand and have lost their opening two tests against Australia, honestly I cant recall the last thing of worth they done in the test arena.

England are an experienced test side littered with some solid players and a few genuine world class stars, I would love Pakistan to put it up to them in the summer but it won’t happen.

Younis is better off away from them as well, quality player and a top bloke treated like muck last year. I would not blame him if he never came back.
I would expect them to be much more competitive in the ODI matches though.

Lot of ifs with Pakistan these days.....:(
