Any of the following buses from D'Olier Street (O'Connell Bridge) would be the handiest:
14, 14A, 83, 128. They are all fairly frequent, so you won't be waiting long.

Fare €1.60. Just ask the driver to let you know when you reach the junction of Leinster Road. Leinster Square is a couple of minutes walk up that road.

Or any of the 15s from Eden Quay.

Cost by taxi from O'Connel bridge would be about 10 euro.

From Nassau Street, bus stop ND (look at the top of the stop) offers the best choice of all:

    14, 14a, 15, 15a, 15b, 74, 74a, 128

It is opposite the Swan (shopping) Centre in the centre of Rathmines. Get off at the bus stop immediately after the tall red clock tower (about the sixth stop after the humpback canal bridge).

Leinster Square is T-shaped to left, clock tower and Swan (shopping) Centre. Leinster Square isn't quite a square and looks like an ordinary T-shaped street. There are some side streets and laneways off it.
