Just wondering if it is ok to put a carbon frame bike on a turbo tainer?

Had heard before that the vibration can be bad for them.

I've read that it's not a good idea to use a CF frame on a turbo, but I don't know for certain.

no its actually worse for an alumium frame!
carbon flexes, but alumium doesnt in the same non destructive way after 1000;s and 1000's of cycles.

Edit Id say this has been done to death in other threads no?

If it were a major problem we'd hear of broken frames regularly. I haven't heard of many turbo related failures (there's always someone who knows someone who broke his bike in whatever way is being discussed - this is the internet).

Given that there are a lot of frames out there on a lot of turbos I'm taking the paucity of horror stories is strong evidence that there's little to fear.

Cue 'i no a bloke who...' story.

I'd still try to take it easy enough on the bike when it's in the turbo - no out-of-the-saddle rocking the bike from side to side stuff. Just is case. Do your suffering sitting down.

No they're fine otherwise ther'd be a warning on the turbo trainers and besides you put a lots more force on the bike on the road.

you would think there would be far less stress on a frame on a turbo over the road, especially when you think of the standard of roads in ireland.
