AC power loose connection, ideas?

Just looking for some thoughts or ideas on this, pooling the power of the collective!

We have these bins in the library, they get full and then we unplug the data and power cords (just like a regular AC power cable for the monitor/computer) and empty the books/dvds/etc from it. However, all the plugging/unplugging of the power cord causes the connection on the bin to be not so good at times (i.e you can hear the clicks of it trying to make a connection) and sooner or later we have to get the part replaced.

I thought of maybe using a short cord (female-female, is there such a thing?) so at least we could eliminate unplugging from the bin to save the connection. Any other ideas, or solutions out there? Thanks.

Why not plug them out at the socket? Or tell whoever is plugging them out, not to riggle the connection left to right when they do so.

Sorry, hard to explain, it is not connected to any socket. Power cord is wired (not removable easily) from the conveyor which plugs into the bin. There could be 10 or so different people during the day changing out bins, have sent emails and talked to people about it. I was just trying to think of a way to lengthen the span of these before they need replacing.

I assume you need a male-female cord?
