I have a WMA file that I wish to upload to youtube. I assume that I must convert it to WMV first. What's the easiest way of doing this? I have tried with AVS, but as the original file contains no video, I can't proceed with the conversion.

    hey man,
ya need to use a video editor (e.g. windows movie maker) and import the audio. Then, publish it as a video straight up to youtube. You can use any pictures as the visual part of the video since you have gotten the audio sorted out.

Thanks for the reply! I tried to do that before, but failed! Forgive my obvious ignorance, but what must I do? When I try to place the file in the video slot it goes into the audio one. When that happens, what should I do?

ya see, ya cant SEE an audio file so it belongs in the audio panel. put any ol' random photo in the visual panel and go into File>>Save as Movie File and upload it to youtube. youtube is a site for videos that you can see. if you want to upload just an mp3 you can use rapidshare or something like that...

Sorry to be a nuisance, but when I try to follow your advice about saving the project as a movie file, I do not have that particular option. The only option is to save as 'Windows Moviemaker Projects.'

Underneath where it says save project and save project as, it says "save movie file". Choose to save it in your computer, then all you have to do is choose a name for the new movie file and a place to save it in your computer. dont worry, the menu goes step by step and is easy to use.
saving it as a project will just save it as a number of files and an unfinished movie maker file as i am sure you have already found out! :) good luck and its no hastle at all dont worry. im glad i can help cos usually its me thats gettin the advice...

Instead of 'Save Movie File' I'm only getting the option 'Publish Movie.' When I chose that before it was publishes as an audio file, so I couldn't upload it to youtube.
