    Captain Random
    (AKA Enda Rochford)
Originally from Co.Sligo but more recently based in Co.Kildare , Random began DJing in 2000/2001 When he bought his first set of cheap direct drive turn tables and started taking regular trips to Dublin to visit Spin Dizzy and Abbey Disc's. This led to moving to Dublin permanently in 2003. After a short break from playing commercially and getting married in 2005 , Random started back with a renewed sense of purpose working as resident Friday night DJ at the Beacon in Sandyford
Focusing on Production for the last few years, Captain Random is now a recognised Ableton Live Performance professional. Recently signed to Irish Label Dublin Xpress Recordings, Captain Randoms First EP will be released on DXR in early 2010

    DXR Releases:
DXR041 - Tony Craig - Doghead - Captain Random Remix
    DXR043 - Diarmaid O Meara - Melodika - Captain Random Remix
    DXR048 - Tony Craig - Kode6 - Captain Random Remix
    DXR051 - Produse - Primal - Captain Random Remix

    Tony Craig

Rising Star on the Belfast music scene, Tony presents the Saturday night Dance show on Feile FM, He is also regularly playing in most clubs around belfast and recently ran his own night called 80 only. As for production Tony has had releases on a number of labels so far including Nice & Nasty, DXR, Modifi music and a track forthcoming on Static Recordings.
Tony has 2 releases this month, his own track Doghead on DXR and a remix of T-Polar's Bubbling brook on Nice & Nasty.

Praise For Doghead: Tony Craig's debut is a stomping minimal groove that fuses the deep Berlin sounds with pumping Chi-town style rhythms. this is pure unadulterated dance floor fodder from Belfast burgeoning talent, Tony Craig and comes replete with remixes from Ireland's emerging talent Jay Riordan and Cricky Lyttle; however, look out for the cracking debut from Numerical and Captain Random. These 5 trax span the spectrum of techno, minimal techno, progressive house and tech house. It is pure deep quality tuneage that DJs and punters will adore. Tony Craig has been steadily building his reputation as one of Norther Ireland's top DJs of the future whilst churning out a few remixes for DXR and Nice & Nasty. Still in his early 20s this young man is most definitely one to watch.

Captain Random will have a busy 2010,

As well as featuring heavily on the DXR catalogue, he will also have remixes and original material coming out on Red Robot Records in the UK and New Irish Techno Label Gobsmacked.

In the mean time. Just praying that the weather breaks for the weekend so the gig can go ahead.

    Thats the hope :)
I heard Dublin was quiet enough last weekend so hopefully if the snow clears enough to let people head out it should be a fairly solid night of choons

Tony Craig will be arriving down from Belfast on Saturday evening by trusty Dogsled, with a big bag of tunes in tow.
Its Brian Taaffe's Birthday weekend so he's bringing a big gang and we were updated yesterday by the venue manager that there's big interest in the gig over the last few days. It might be cold outside but we'll be turning up the heat

Unfortunately due to increasingly bad weather we've been advised to postpone tonights Dublin Xpress Recordings Gig.
There will be no Nightlink bus in operation tonight and reduced taxi service from 6pm and with the snow set to return with vengeance tonight its for the best that we call off tonights proceedings for a better date.
There has been great response so I'm fairly gutted at having to call it off but we are likely to run this night in early February so I'll keep everyone in the loop.
