    Hi There,

I'm working with Mac OS X at the moment and I can't seem to set it higher than 1024 x 768. I've gone into preferences and display but 1024 x 768 is the only resolution available.

Is there another way to set this.

This is in a VM so maybe this is the max value for the virtual display adapter. If so how do I fix this.

    My display is 1680 x 1050.

    Thanks...

If it is a limitation of the VM, you would need to check your VMs display preferences to see what you would be able to set it to.

If it's in a VM, you are probably missing some custom addition to enable full graphics support. For example, when you create a new VM with VMware Fusion, you only have limited resolutions (and pretty low, 800x600 or 1024x768) until you install a package called VMware Tools (from the Virtual Machine menu). Once that is installed, you get better graphics support (3D acceleration, etc) and higher resolutions - I can get 1920x1200 in my various VMs just fine.

Parallels Desktop and VirtualBox would have similar packages that you need to install once the VM is set up - Google around to find what they are called/how to install them.

Cool, I had been asked about VMW tools but was putting it off until I got everything up and running.

I'll do that when I can figure out how to re-enable hardware virtualisation after it mysteriously disabled and now I can't run OS X!!
