Hi Folks, I have a 50" sony bravia rear projection tv for the last 2 or 3 years and have no problems with it until now.
It started yesterday when I was watching a programme, it was working fine and suddenly turned itself off with no warning and the power light kept flashing from red to green and back.
I tried to power it off completely then and you have to hold the power button for approximately 5 second. I let it rest for a while and it was grand until today.
The same thing happened then tonight when I was playing my ps3 but it happened 5 times in the space of 1.5 hours and it gets really frustrating when your in the middle of a game.
Would any of you wise folks have any idea as to what could be wrong with it or is it just f**ked.

Please post the exact model number of the TV - have you checked the user manual, it should tell you what the flashing lights mean. At a wild guess, possible explanations include that the tv goes into shut-down because (a) the lamp-life has reached a certain numebr of hours or (b) overheating - check manual whether there are filters that need to be cleaned.

Check the manual, if you don't have it try googling or post back here with the exact model number of the TV.

Happy harry doesnt sound to happy. How about not posting if you have nothing worthwhile to say instead of trying to get your post count up
