Eddie Rockets new menu

I was in Eddie Rockets in South Anne Street today and they have a new menu. All the burgers have gone up slightly in the new menu, however, this is compensated by the fact that they are now doing an add-on of regular fries and coke with "any burger".

My problem is, even though it says "any burger" on the menu, this doesn't include double burgers and you are only told this when you try to order one. If they had said "not valid on double burgers" on it I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it doesn't. I think this is a very poor show from Eddies

I was going to put the new deal into the Bargain Alert section, until this happened, now it's really more of a rip-off

all eddie rockets restaurants have always had very large windows. Complaining that eddie rockets is a rip off is like suddenly deciding to complain that rain is wet.

Its pretty usual they exclude the double burger from deals.

The deal is pretty ok to be honest, usualy your looking at the bones of 13-14 euro for a meal, no wonder my mate calls it rob-your-pockets

I don't agree with the assertion that ER is a rip-off in general. They're not as cheap as Burger King, fair enough, but they don't do fast food like they do.

ER genuinely don't cook anything until they have an order for it. As a result, everything is fresher, thicker and a damn sight
tastier. They charge what it costs to make decent burgers -
if you want one made of eyelids
    and....whatever,
keep paying those "reasonable prices" at inferior fast food outlets.

    Anyone who reckons one of
those are better than Eddie's is only trying to emphasise their point.

They're a rip off to be honest, and lets not kid ourselves here, they're serving up burgers and chips fellas...not steak tartare!.

I'll admit, they're a nice alternative to your MacDonalds or Burger Kings..but I have to say I normally regret ever going there when the bill comes. THey're just that little bit too much for you to justify it to yourself.

Has anybody noticed their burgers getting smaller. I got one last week. It looked huge but every time I took a bite I was getting a mouthful of lettuce.

I wasn't implying that Eddies is a rip-off in general, it's just the fact that the add-on didn't apply to the double burgers that I believe is a rip-off.

For the quality of food served, I think it is quite reasonable, especially now that you can get a burger (normal size ONLY), fries and a coke for between €10 and €10.50 depending on the burger.

    It is totally unfair to compare it to McDonalds or Burger King for the following reasons;

    1. Burgers are made fresh not from frozen burgers

    2. The burgers are 50% bigger than the burgers on sale in McD's or BK (151g compared to 113g for a Big Mac, Quarter pounder or Whopper

    3. Table service

    4. Oreo milkshakes made from milk, ice cream, cream and Oreos

    5. Burgers always made to order

ER is far nicer than McDs or any of the like (is it just me or are the Irish fast food francises the worst ?). Its similar to a restaurant burger, so its priced similarly.I do know a local chipper that does a fantastic burger for a fair whack cheaper though.

And they STILL manage to taste worse than McDonalds and Burger King.

The only thing I would willingly consume in Eddie's is a malt or milkshake.
