Not a very popular brand, but these lads seem to have no problems riding them. I have seen Philip Lavery's one in the flesh and I must say they do look well. However that would probably be their top of the range model, no idea on what their more basic models are like but nothing a quick google seach can't solve! Best of luck :D

I was in the Cycle Inn on the long mile road and your man said KTM used to make bicycles a while back and then stopped. They make motocross/dirt bikes and are apparently very good at that and last year or the year before they started making bicycles again. I was very tempted by a mountain bike of theirs a few months ago.

Here's a few reviews of different KTM bikes (though not the one you are specifically looking at):

Edit: My history lesson was a bit wrong, its all there in the second link.

ktm are mainly involved in cyclocross bikes but have started to make road bikes and mtbs, my local bike shop has a good few mountainbikes of them and they look well nice, i think they are pretty pricey though for what you get.

heres a link to a review of some of their mtbs to give you an idea.

sorry just saw pete the drummer has posted same link!

the one you picked looks good to me though, bit pricey but very nice

seems to be a good price , trek with ultegra would be 2000 euro. i am also looking at a trek 2.3 and cube with ultegra for 1600 euros.
i dont really want to spend more than 1500 euros , so just checking what would be best for that money. i want aluminium frame with carbon fork. have seen some with carbon stays but try to avoid if possible. i am on the heavy side and i want something that will also last a while.

    To the OP.

1500 should get you a good alu frame bike.

As it happens I will be selling an as new alu framed/carbon forked bike with full ultegra sometime in January.

OP, the strada 3000 hits your spec and price pretty nicely. They are very nice bikes indeed. I have one of their top end mountain bikes, and its fantastic.

Euro prices are europe-wide, so no "paddy tax" on KTMs
