Im looking for some mats, they seem to differ by a huge amount in price from place to place.

Would these do the job (for wrestling, BJJ etc) ?

    http://www.mu-sa.co.uk/shop/items/MUSAMATS.php

    the 40mm (1m x 1m) are £18, which seems ok.

Looking around most other places they seem to go for around €80 and above.

If you're only doing grappling the kids play mats from Smyths are great. They're 1.9cm thick and one packet covers 16 square feet, for €24.99
However if you want to do Wrestling/Judo throws you'll need something thicker.

    Hope this helps.

If I could do it again, I'd go to Zhivago or some other furniture/upholstery suppliers, get the 40mm high density chipped foam in sheets (approx 10euro per metre squared) and cover my entire floor area. Then I'd get some truck tarp or some canvas and Bob would have been my uncle for approximately 4 four grand less than my current matted area cost. Be warned if you're doing any throws whatsoever, the small jigsaw mats will take their toll on your joints sooner or later. They're even rough on the knees and elbows for groundwork only.

I would also be interested in some of these mats if they are still available.

    Hiya

The chiped foam covered with tarp idea sounds great but I can't find foam at a reasonable price. Zhivago said 2M x1M @40mm would be €227!
The tarp is cheap enough n I could get someone to cover it, if I could find foam affordably. Any ideas, or did you get that €10 p/mtr2 from somewhere particular roper?

    Cheers
