Reinstalling windows issue

    Hi all,
    I've a friend who is having trouble re-installing windows vista on his laptop. He is due to sell it sometime soon and wanted to clear it.

    It's a toshiba laptop running windows vista.

    We're getting as far as 24% progress consistantly stopping there and the following error shows on the cmd screen.
    [Error 23] C:\windows\system32\driverstore\file repository\prnepool.inf_foa9a372

    The recovery disc is the original and the laptop was running fine all day and has been re-installed in the past with no issues. The laptop cannot run windows now because its partially wiped.

    Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this? It would be greatly appreciated.
