I'm still missing John Peel's Festive 50, though I will probably give Fanning a listen.

Peel's list was always much better.

But it is voted by the listeners...so depends on the listeners's choice

    1 - U2 "Bad (Live)"
    2 - Pixies "Debaser"
    3 - Smiths "There is a light"

    repeat for 20+ years

I could see the point of this when Dave had a regular nightly music show, its a bit pointless now that he doesn't - Paul McLoone is probably his current equivalent.

Agreed, ever since Dave moved time slots from his usual 2-3hour nightly stint on 2FM he lost it. Every night a new theme in which he'd play the same songs over and over.

"Tonight on the show, songs you would have played at your wedding - Derek in Carlow says 'Smashing Pumpkins - Today', Grainne in Limerick says 'Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah'"

"Tonight on the show, songs you would have played at your Funeral - Joe in Dublin says 'Smashing Pumpkins - Today', Mick in Galway says 'Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah'"

not a bad song but being played to death at the moment. No sign of Arcade's fire Wake up. Strange. Full list below

This list further proves what idiots Irish people are.
What kind of person votes “sex on fire” as their best song ever? Morons.
Dave should have been too embarrassed to publish that list.
I bet you Peel used to doctor his

Yes sex on fire just has to be the most over-rated song from a band that used to be half decent.

Agreed. First two albums were decent, all went downhill after that though.
