    Mastering on a Budget
    Hi folks:

Any recommendations for places/people who can master a full album? Any rising stars in the mastering business?

I have mastered singles thru the established mastering providers, but as I'm on a tight budget, price is a factor, so shopping around.

Must have some track record on commercial releases.

    Thanks

Put a figure to your budget and you'll get much more useful suggestions...

    As Fitz says -

Mastering is very cheap anyway - why not go to and talk to Richard at Wav or Fergal at Suite .

    Both are affordable and experienced.

The standard is 65-70 euro per track, with no reduction for quantity. im looking to see if there are cheaper mastering services available.

Yes - they had a receptionist who was withering on incessantly about having a home birth and Studio 2's Control Room was average at best ;)

No their Mastering has a good rep.

Interestingly they (EMI, who owns Abbey Road) got Metropolis to Master the Beatles 5.1 Mix.

As always it's the pilot not the plane that matters most - a monkey in Abbey Road will do a worse Job than a musical engineer on a laptop.....

And there are monkeys everywhere !

Oh, and more important than any Mastering .................

Start of with a good mix.
