Weird trippy animated flying man video on RTE in 80s

    Hi

    Does anyone remember the trippy animated flying man video that used be on RTE in the 80s. It used to be on I think before the news to take up air time. All I can remember is that he flew around in and out of weird shapes and had big eyes that reflected stars. It was maybe 5-10mins long.

    There was another animation with animals with I think a beatles soundtrack where all these animals group and march together, and there was a mouse with a mask on the back of his head. (weird stuff the mind remembers)


    I have already found one memoryhere on the boards that haunted me, could not figure out this weird triangle thing with a glowing being inside it, which turned out to be Chocky.

    Are you thinking of Autobahn by Kraftwerk? It was used as a filler by RTE a lot of the time.

    Wow, completely forgot about that one, not quite it. but I might have misled with the Beatles. But from a related link on youtube I did find this one, with the mouse and the mask on the back of its head.

    This is the one I was looking for as it turns out it was Love is All by Roger Glover, but you got to admit its sounds very Beatles.

    I think the animals one might have been Butterfly Ball - done by the Beatles' animator guy.

    Those cheapy cartoons which RTE showed on a loop in the early/mid 80s were mostly courtesy of Halas & Batchelor. You'll find much snippets of what you're looking for here (others include Hamilton the elephant, and Barnaby, the kid who hung out with an Oirish fairy godfather - Mr O'Malley):
