What does Re-Admission actually mean?

So I'm applying to do a course in Trinity College, I've already graduated but I want to change direction completely. I'm not a mature student, so I thought I had to apply through the CAO, and through the CAO only.

However, reading the CAO handbook (http://www2.cao.ie/handbook/handbook/hb.pdf) it says:
You should apply direct to the appropriate HEI (and NOT through CAO) in the following cases:
    (4) Re-admission to Mary Immaculate College, Trinity College and University of Limerick.

Trinity Admissions Office (http://www.tcd.ie/Admissions/undergraduate/apply/re-admission/) has the not hugely helpful comment that:
Students who have completed a course of study or who have been off the books for a number of years may be re-admitted to College subject to the student satisfying the general admission requirements.

You see, I thought re-admission was only for students who had dropped out of college, or had taken a year out or whatever. Since I have already completed a course in Trinity, should I re-apply to the CAO, or to Trinity only, or both?
