a few months ago I stuck up thread where we discussed who was our fav heels of this decade. Their was some decent debate about the merits of JBL, Edge and a few others so I decided to recapture the magic of that. :pac:
Seriously though portraying a charismatic face is very difficult some are totally hopeless in the role e.g Morrison currently, while others are superb in getting the fans behind them. So anyways enough of my digressing which babyfaces did you get behind this decade?
For me Eddie, he had an edge, he was dastardly. he was charismatic and he was a superb worker.

I don't think Fla is doing this in his polls, if he is apologies and lock and all that. :o

    No work away lad.

I'd have to agree with you on Eddie. For a 4-5 year period he was absolutely fantastic in just about every aspect if pro-wrestling imaginable. He was so over with crowds that no matter how hard they pushed him as a heel, they had no choice but to turn him face. I don't think there was any wrestler I genuinely rooted for as much as Eddie this decade. His promos were brilliant ad he was up there with Benoit et al as one of the alltime elite in-ring workers.

His title win in 2004 is still one of the great mark-out moments that I will treasure forever. I've mentioned it before but Michael Cole's impassioned "Climb Eddie climb!" as he goes to his his finisher on Lesnar still gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. So yeah Eddie gets it for me. God I miss him.:(

Some great choices for face of this decade, Rjd2.

I completly agree with you Flah. Eddie was just 1 of those people who had something special about them. The Lie, Cheat, Steal vignetes with Chavo always had me laughing. That match in '04 was one of those mark-out moments (like you said). Cole's "climb Eddie climb" is always the moment I remember the match.

    For me, definetly Eddie.

You can vote as many people as you want by the way. I forgot Big Dave, I dunno if a mod can add him? He's not a huge fav of mine but I imagine he has some on the board. :o

looking at that list reminds me of how horrible the E has booked their faces this decade compared to the late 1990s, all E faces are sugary sickly sweet vanilla faces, started with rock in 2002, continued with orton, edge, cena

eddie is the one guy that stands out head and shoulders above the rest

Austin is definitely the best face of the 90's, but he was (supposed to be) heel for most of his run in the 00's.

For me, Eddie is without a doubt the best face of the 00's. Like both Austin and the Rock, he was supposed to be heel, but was just loved by everybody and had to be face.

    John Cena
    Brock Lesnar..

i lol'd at the amount of people that chose Stone Cold..I guarantee half of them weren't watching at that time, i.e early 2000's..

Stone Cold missed most of 2000 with an injury and then only was around for another year or so after that..Stone Cold should not win this poll,,and I love Stone Cold

Why did you vote for stone cold then?

    Voted for Eddie.

I think The Rock, Stone Cold & HBK would be better suited to a 90's poll.

Having Hogan in there is a joke.

Eddie for me too. Don't think anyone else has had me laugh so much. When he stole Flairs number at the rumble I was in bits laughing. The above vignetes were quality.

Completely agree. Been a face for like 8 years in a row now and is super over on nearly every show (Say nearly because he got that second strike which turned a few guys), never loses momentum, kiddies favourite and faces are their to get the kids and is the merchandise seller.

BTW, Hornswaggle deserves a nomination for doing so well with no talent

    I only voted once. HBK.
Yeah, I'm still a mark for the clique.

I hate when people make a public poll. That way I can't screw with it and change the results to suit my preference.

Speak for yourself. I probably stopped watching wrestling religiously when you started watching it.

I agree that Ray is a big face selling well but I'll have to go with Taker as the Taker fan I am.

    What are you talking about?

Austin was only about for a few years at the start of the 00's and he was playing a heel. His sporadic one off appearances since then, he's been face.

For 97,98 and 99 however Austin was one of the biggest and best faces in the history of pro wrestling.

If you stopped watching wrestling religiously in about 1987 then your statement is possibly true.

has to be the rock or eddie. i went for the rock as i have better memories of him from 2000 to 2002/3. the best on the mic ever everest. eddie got to places i never thought he would either. deffo my #2.

and wasnt stone mould a heel for most of the decade he was wrestling? hmmmm. half and half i think. he came up with What? in the 00s tho

I picked Eddie because when he moved to Smackdown the true Eddie was shown. It started w/ his battles w/ Benoit to his Los Guerreros gimmicks w/ Chavito so v funny and from 2003 to 2004 he won Tag team titles twice,U.S. title when it was re-instated and of course the big one WWE title from Lesnar. How could u hate this guy he had it all gud looks, charisma funny as hell and to this day we still hear Eddie chants.

On another note where is RVD on that list??
