I got to know this girl well about a year ago. I always thought she was really kind and I enjoyed her company definitely! We went to some parties and I/she invited me/her to parties or whatever was going on. Then she seemed to cut contact after a particular night out, and I could not understand it, but it was hard for me to discuss it with her. It was months before I sent her a text but it was onlu general chit-chat. Can't someone maybe explain her action?

If it was a particular point, try and pinpoint what was happenign at that time, in your life and hers. Possibly (sorry for mentioning it) she met someone else? Could someone you don't get along with have said somethin to her, either true or untrue?

Also, when you say "it was hard to discuss it with her" what do you mean? How hard did you try? I ask because texting six months later, to me, indicates that you weren't all that committed.

We were only friends, and we were not in continuous contact ever since I left where I used to work with her. That's why I never text her for so long, also she would usually give me a buzz first. Maybe it was lame of me not to give her a buzz much sooner. :(
On said night I got pretty drunk and at times I was a little annoying to her - but that's just the drink, I had way more than her. I'm nearly sure SOME of my behaviour disappointed her, she might have thought I was more of a scummer than previously!

    A-ha. The demon alcohol.

Here's my guess (based on what you've posted).
She thought you were little more than a friend because you never showed much interest. Then, when you did you were drunk.

Only you can say if this is possible or not.

Possible advice? Be honest. If you really like her, start talking to her again. Once your on speaking terms, point you that you weer a jerk on the night in question and apologise. Might work, might not. What do you ahve to lose?

Text her, i was in a VERY simialar situation and would have loved the first text, if even just to explain/question why the loss of contact. You have nothing to loose.
