    hi i currently have a higher cert in business and i would like to return to college as a mature student as im now currently unemployed i havent gone to the dole office yet but will be going monday to sign on should i tell them my intention is to return to colllage and claim btea or just claim dole and apply for btea after 9 months

    You may not be eligible for BTEA, not all courses are covered under the scheme. There also is restrictions on the amount of time you have been out of full time studies, and the relevance of the course to your previous qualification. It's also possible the criteria for eligibility will change between now and Autumn 2010.

    If you are unemployed and genuinely seeking employment, then by all means go and sign on, but don't sign on for the sake of you might being eligible for a scheme that you won't be able to take advantage for another couple of months.

    my current qualification is a level 6 in business and i want to move on to level 7 in business i should be entitled to the btea
