    Got a new Kenwood unit

IPOD is in the Glovebox, full control from head unit.

    Round knobs suit the Alfa

10 colours selectable, match your dash colours

Most modern aftermarket headunits have a facility to control an iPod. And if you'd gone with a bluetooth equipped Kenwood you could have ditched your Parrot kit too ;)

Have the same one, works with my old 6cd changer in the boot and steering wheel controls. Not bad!

    @ Top Dog

I sometimes wonder why I post on boards.ie -it is certainly the blackhole of negativity...

did you actually read my OP?

the knobs (more appropriate a word than ever now!) actually match the dash (3 dials upper 2 knobs mid 3 knobs lower)

the Kenwood kit as installed is Bluetooth ready HOWEVER as I actually differentiate and deliniate between my home and work lives I do not demand an integrated digital life (plus the fact that the Parrot was installed + 3 years!)

as PREVIOUSLY mentioned in the OP this particular unit's colours can be controlled... Red, Pink, Orange, Yellow, Light Green, Mid Green, Dark Green, Light Blue, Mid Blue, Dark Blue, Neutral.... (my dash is Orange - how many units are so aesthetically adaptable.... jeez)

Futhermore - Bluetooth would not enable charging. the USB cable that runs from the rear of the head unit to being discretely located in my locked glovebox also charges my IPOD touch.

boards.ie - where knee jerks will always be the first to respond!

welcome to Ireland, the home of the Kerry 50.

@Barname - what is the model no. of that and how much did it cost?

My car has orange interior lighting and I need a new stereo to replace my failing Pioneer - same setup as the Kenwood, 10 selectable colours!

It is a KDC W7544U and it cost me €179

if colour changing is important to you it has to be the W7544U - a certain store sells the W7044U which illuminates in Blue and this colour cannot be changed

Thats the box it came in.

Yeah I did read the original post - I found it on page 3 of Motors with zero replies so thought I'd say something in the hope of bumping it for more to see rather than have it disappear down the pages like so many other threads that go with no reply. Now I realise I really shouldn't have bothered.

Cranky much when you don't always get the replies you want?

Looks nice. Can you get an adaptor to use it with steering wheel controls? Buddy is looking for something for a 147. I went with a parrot mki 9200 to do the same thing really. Colour screen, control and the connections in the glovebox but he doesn't want his dash cluttered with an extra screen

    Thanks,

Yes, Kenwood have control units for connecting with Steering wheel controls...
