Trad flute sound question.

    Hello,

I was wondering if there was someone here that could answer this question.

I play the classical boehm style flute and recently got a Irish trad key-less flute. When I play it it has a very warm mellow sound, like my classical flute playing sound. My question is, Is there a special way to blow the traditional Irish flute to get that really reedy sound or does the sound of the flute depend on size of the embouchure hole, finger holes and wood?

Sorry I don't know the answer to your question, but you might have more luck posting in the Traditional forum, or the best place would probably be http://www.thesession.org/
    Good Luck :)
