    Hey,

Where abouts in Meath is this?
Would this be a good first race to enter? I have plenty of time to prepare for this.

    Thanks!

I'l be doing it, but only so that I can complete 8 out of 8 races in the Meath Road Race League. However, as race director I might just disqualify everybody else and win my first race:D:D

I have entered this race too. It's the first time I've entered something other than a Half marathon or a Marathon race. I'm hoping for a time of around 34 minutes.

Final results now available from this race.

Many thanks to all those who made the journey down to compete.

Hope to see you all again next year.

I was there. Finished 31st. Nearly collapsed at the end as i misjudged where the finish line was in a sprint off. :) Mile 3 into 4 seemed to take forever. Really didnt enjoy that part.

I was 61st. That wind was a killer alright. Thought I was going to break 34mins 3 miles in but ended up lucky to dip under 36 due to that windy uphill 4th mile!

Wind was tough alright, first mile was very fast but not enough to make up for the windy sections.

46th place for me. I did the first mile in 6 minutes flat  so I definately went out too quickly. It was a bit demoralising been progressively overtaken by the more sensible even paced runners for the remainder of the race but I least I managed to break my goal time of 34 minutes.

Great race in Ballivor yesterday. My first race since the marathon and it felt good to be back. Enjoyed the tea and sandwiches in the hall afterwards. Looking forward to Dunboyne on the 28th march:)

There are some shots of the finish up on racepix365.com.

Again many thanks for joining us on the day. I was supposed to run as well but the chap covering the defib at the finish line didn't show so I took one for the team:rolleyes:

The race was good and better organised this year my hat off to the race director but the race could be bigger the 2pm time is bad for anybody with kid's or who want to enjoy the day it would be much better held in the morning, mind you that is a small complaint on what i belive is a good relatively traffic free course.

    Thanks for the feedback.;)

Unfortunately no matter what time we start the race we clash with something, somewhere. The parade in Athboy is at 12.30pm, Trim is 3pm. Mass in Ballivor is 11.30am. We started at 12 noon 2 years ago and only had 80 runners. This year we had 155 competitors. For a Meath club race, excluding the Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin races, that is a good size field. Its not easy to entice club runners down that far off the beaten track.

    Any suggestions gratefully received:)

this is one of the best races you could do, i really enjoyed it. good course. i love the meath races, the food and atmosphere are the best, better than anything in dublin. ill be up for the navan, bohermeean, dunboyne, maybe dunshaughlin.

and to meathcountysec, whats the reason changing bohermeean from friday evening to a saturday evening? just curious.

I believe they had changed to the Friday night last year because of a clash with another race on the Saturday. This year no clash so on Saturday.
