How long for a DELL to arrive?

Hi, hope im posting in the right place.

I ordered a dell there last week i got a few extras put into it and ive checked it each day on the site and it has gone through the stages and 2days ago it said shipped!!!!!:D The woman when i ordered it said it should arrive the 22nd december, but im just wondering if I might get it before then? its been delived by INT (ive never heard of them and there is no tracking available for them on the site!:o)

Im so excited i cant wait!!!!! ps does anyone know where the dell is coming from? are they made in limerick?

Dell's are made in Poland now, at least thats where my new(ish) one came from. The delivery and tracking system is awful on their part, but hopefully if it shipped two days ago (Supposedly) you should have it soon enough. Before Christmas I would hope!

I wouldn't hold my breath for it to arrive early, especially at this time of year. Dell's delivery times have been awful recently.

Btw, their notification of shipping seem to be out and out wrong. At the very least they no longer dispatch from Limerick, although the site still says so :rolleyes:

My family ordered two laptops recently (Nov), both of which came over two weeks late. Well, we were a bit worried aout the first when the delivery date came and went with no sign so we rang up interlink and they didn't seem to know where it was. The girl on the phone said it'd be with them the next day but it came 5 days later....

So i don't know if it's Interlink, or Dell that are the problem. You'll get it, but just don't hold your breath waiting for it.

thanks for the info! Might try and give them a ring and see what the story is wouldnt mind when it comes as long as its before christmas!!! although there very hard to get on the phone to !!

Interlink are now DPD. Dell's tracking system is rubbish and it is often incorrect. I have an order with them at present. Dell says that they handed it to UPS a week ago. UPS today insist that they don't have it. What to do? Someone's telling porkies.

I got mine Tuesday,

i ordered it 15 days before that, so 15 days in total!

If you call dpd head office in athlone i think, they can update as to what stage the delivery is at, they will need the order number you got when you payed for the laptop.

DPD simply bought out Interlink and rebranded it as DPD Ireland afaik, and their systems don't seem to have been integrated at all. DPD Ireland only seem to be able to tell if a product is with them and not where it is in the global DPD system? That's been my experience at least.

Actually if its a consumer model its shipping from China. The leadtime is 10 days minimum from dispatch date so I would be surprised if you do get it for Christmas.

rang dpd this morning and gave them the number and they have it on there system and said it will be delivered tomorrow!!!!!!!! Happy Days:D:p god i wont know myself with a new lappy. ive a 5year old dell at the mo..:rolleyes:

In the same boat as you fluffytulip. Ordered a Dell on the 2nd and the status changed yesterday to "SHIPPED". Crossing my fingers that I might get it before Chrimbo.

I ordered mine last August and I'm pretty sure it look at least 3 weeks to get here so I certainly wouldn't expect it within a week.

I'l keep my fingers crossed for you. When you ordered it did they give you a delivery date? they told us the 22nd and sure enough tomorrow is the 22nd. You could ring dell to ask about what date or dpd!

Thanks...they gave me an estimated delivery date of the 7th of January 2010!!! You ordered yours last week yet I ordered mine on the 2nd...I suppose it depends on what machine you're ordering.

I could have sworn I saw a thing on the Dell website a week or two ago stating a cut off date for laptop orders for Xmas. I think it was order before the 12th and get it before the 25th. I ordered on the 2nd FFS :mad:

Anyway I rang DPD here in Limerick and they told me to try back on Wednesday. Doubt I'll get it for Santa now but at least I won't be expecting it today or tomorrow.

hey Gunner Curved Mullet did you recieve your laptop yet? i actually didnt get mine till the wednesday. sat in all day then decided to ring only to be told the shipment didnt come in and it would be tomorrow the wednesday. im delighted with it so new and fast!!!!:D

It actually arrived the morning of Christmas Eve so was delighted!
