Early morning driving test

I learned how to drive over the summer and now have my test coming up. I applied last week for a cancellation thinking I would get it for after christmas (stupidly saying that yes I was available before christmas) and now Ive my test next week at 8.25 in the morning! I havent driven much in the dark and especially with possible icy condititons at that time in the morning (part of the test route is quite rural and I know wont be salted or whatever). I called the RSA but as its less than 10 days before the test if I cancel it I lose my fee.

Now that I've given you that long winded backstory, my question is this, is it ok to say to tester, "Im going to go a bit slower than I normally would, just because its still dark and Im worried about icy patches" will they still mark me down for lack of progress if say im going 50-60 in an 80 zone?
Would prefer to be safe rather than sorry, should I say it or will they instantly get a bad impression of me like I dont know what Im doing?

Will try and get as much practice in as possible at that time in the morning. If anyone has had similar experiences would really appreciate warstorys!
    Thanks

Dont tell him, make it completely obvious you are aware of the conditions and have adjusted accordingly.
I had my test 2 weeks ago at the same time as you.
It wasnt that different, just make sure your car is warm so as to avoid embarrassing gear changes and clunky acceleration. ;)

If it's any way frosty or icy they won't take you out. Your test will be cancelled and re-arranged for a later date. If you are tested, make sure you drive on dipped headlights and at a speed that's appropriate for the road and traffic conditions.
Remember, you must always be able to stop safely, in the distance you can see to be clear.
