Portable Laptop with docking station

I've an old dell X300. Had it for 4 years now n its prob the best laptop I've ever owned, its the only one I've held onto.

Anyways, its showing its age big time now n its time for an upgrade. Basically I want a dell X300 only faster.... But I can't find one, or I can but they're too expensive..

Looking for something with a nice enough spec, just needs to be able to run Win 7, office '07 and the likes of photoshop elemenets or dreamweaver.

Screen size of around 13" and it HAS to be able to dock. N I mean a propper dock, not a usb dock. I'm so used to having a dock in the office n one at home, its so god damn handy...

So, anyone know of a laptop that fits the bill... Doesn't have to be brand new, a used one will do. The Lenovo X60 looked perfect but it doesn't have a trackad :(:(

latitudes tend to be fairly over priced these days. Have a look at the Dell Vostro range instead, I think some models have a dock available. They are a 'no frills' range but you can get some decent specs at very good prices.

slight side question: what is it that makes a dock so useful? I've used them from time to time and found them to be a bit fiddly and bulky so I've never understood the long term appeal.

From what I can tell non of the Vostros have ports for docks... Which is a shame cause I like the new V13

With regards the dock, I like to come home, stick the laptop in the dock n turn it on. Then its my desktop replacement, in the morn I pick it up, charged in ready to go... Same again if I'm in the office. I hate having to run cables for chargers, monitors etc etc. I spend a good bit of time on the road or traveling hence something portable is good and if I'm home or in the office I do the accounts, marketing and maintain websites etc so having a large screen an proper keyb n mouse make sense
