Just to stop from cluttering the other thread.

Drilling cylinders and air nozzles is the cheapest way for retailers to downgrade AEG's before having them imported. Most companies won't go through the hassle of opening up AEG's and switching out springs it takes too long and is expensive.
The Irish retailers that downgrade by using a lower power spring may charge a little more as they have gotten their techie's to open up each gearbox and switch out then cut springs to have the AEG comply with Irish law. You pay for a proper good quality down grade.

Discuss all of the drilling and techniques here instead of the other thread as we have derailed it enough.:)

All AEGs must be under 1 joule when imported/sold in this country

Methods of how to downgrade an AEG have no merit on this forum.

If you have an Airsoft device that operates above 1 joule please contact the retailer you purchased it from immediately and inform them that it is defective and needs to be repaired to comply with Irish laws.

If you are sold a device that is above 1 joule , you have been sold an illegal device and should contact the seller as soon as possible

    Please remember the charter

    * There will be no discussion of airsoft greater than 1 joule.
