What kind of ponce says "Crimbo" anyway?

The smug fecker Beardy off the Meteor ad is the real enemy though. ;)

I hate that ad too. If i asked my boyfriend to suprise me for christmas and he got me a garden full of snow he'd be getting a clip around the ear:)

    Crimbo????
    Jesus I hate that phrase/word/whatever t f it is.

Also, agree with you bout your man.

If I had the chance Id point the snow generator up his hole.

    Happy Christmas Everyone!!!:D

    Nobody says crimbo.

At least not around me anyway.

    Maybe they know better....

    Buy a vodafone?

The way I see it people are influenced very little by advertising, at least the people with brains anyway.

Yes, it's an abysmal advert and that guy really does my head in!

It would be more fun however if the girlfriend had a face like thunder and asked him where her REAL present was! :D

She comes across as a really unpleasant person though: pointing at her cheek for him to kiss, saying "Surprise me !" in a way that implies he's getting his P45 if he doesn't come up with something spectacular.

You know when he turns up with the snow machine and she looks out the window in her PJs?
Well, smug bearded git from the Meteor ad is in the bedroom delivering her real Christmas surprise:D

Surprised this ad has garnered so little vilification tbh.

Fcuk off with your snow machine, you pillock.

    /shudder.

Vodafone were doing well with their ice-skating on Grafton Street for the last few Christmasses, all the networks have come up with stupid ads this year.

The O2 one is an exception because it could easily be mistake as an ad for depression awareness.

It's Dermot Whelan from Dublin's 98 (The voice). He said he hated having to say the word Crimbo

AND he looks far too young to remember the big snow from 1981. Shoe-horning nostalgia into a crap ad just serves to irritate me!

Not to mention the fact that the big snow was in ,82.

Well, there was bad snow in 1981. I remember because I was in hospital at the time and I was 7 years old.

The ad's annoying me because it's seems to be running before every video clip on the BBC and RTE websites at the moment.

If I was waking up to a garden full of cocaine the next morning, I'd love that guy too :D:D

Has anyone else's girlfriend had their expectations lifted sKy high by this ad???
My GF said "suprise me" (in the exact same tone of voice as the girl from the ad) when I asked her what she wanted for x-mas. Instanly I went into cold sweats cause I really ain't as determined/ponsy as the guy from these ads...

If I use that aul "Its the thought that counts" line one more time I will be the most single dead man you ever seen :o

Don't accept the "surprise me" line from anyone. It's code for, "Spend more on me than I did on you or I'll be annoyed". Press them for something specific. That way everyone is happy.

"yo liam, just on grafton street and theres these carol singers annyoin me any chance you an the lads could come over to help me out sing them?

"No Tom. Go home your drunk and stop insulting the poor carol singers collecting for cancer research and nobody is going go singin with you, you knob"

Christmas is great ....you can get away with saying the most insulting things by just rounding it off with Happy Christmas Everyone! Dovetails nicely with the Christian ideal :pac:
