What's best when levelling up weapons?

Is it better to stick with one gun until you have all the equipment and beaten all the challenges for the gun?

    or

Is it better to get all the lower-level challenges on a wide range of guns?

I tend to stick with one gun because of gamer OCD but am I missing a trick in doing this? It feels wrong to move up to the ACR when I'm still working on the FAMAS challenges.

Sometimes I feel like I have too many options lol

I stuck with the M4A1 and i dont think ill ever change, i do however change secondary weapons as you can level them up extreemly quickly.
Best way is to find a gun combo you like and stick with it.

Once you are good with a gun the cost/benefit is all on the side of earning xp. Get a gun you like and hang in with it until you are maxed on challenges. Then I usually switch to one like it and rinse repeat until I prestige.

Use Bling. For example you can get 20 kills with the silencer and 20 kills with the ACOG at the same time.

I'd go the other way. Try to unlock the items you like on a range of guns, and then have classes to suit different maps. The assault rifle is nice as a starter on most maps, but on tight ones like Favela I'm leaning towards SMG's, or shotguns on Highrise etc. But again, equally different attachments suit better depending on what game mode you like.

I also think you can level up quicker if you try different guns etc.

I'm a big fan of Bling, just got the 900 kills challenge with it at lunchtime.

I was on the Famas, maxed it out (except for the headshots, have another 100 or so to go).

I'm now using the AUG LMG and liking it. I've been messing about with perks as well. I got the challenges for stopping power so stopped using it and my k/d ratio has gone to hell.

Think I need to get using my secondary weapons a bit more. Really lame amount of kills with the machine pistol I currently use as backup.

I'm currently maxing out my M16 and started on the Raffica and WA2000. However, when I get home, I'll probably try for 20 grenade kills using my FAMAS...that'll be the final unlock and an easy 10000 XP.

As the lads said above. Use bling. For assualt rifles put the noob tube on after 10 kills and get the shotgun attachment. Then you should have the silencer and acog unlocked. Used bling for the 2 of these and you'll unlock thermal and heartbeat monitor pretty much at the same time.

I go with one gun untill i have it done, or near as i like. I use 2 different assault classes. At the moment one is M16 (only 80 odd head shots too go...) and M1 (was the SCAR)

Think you apply most of this to the sniper rifles too, only getting 40 FMJ kills for the extended mags is an awful pain.

best assault rifle in the game IMO, doing the last achievement for it at the mo, getting fall camo.

Try a standard pistol, they're suprisingly good once you're used to em!

Question. How many headshots does it take to finish the challenge on the Scar? I got to 250 thinking i was done. Now i have to get 350. Does it stop there or go on to 500?

have you prestiged yet? I think after you've prestiged the final challenge is 1000 headshots.

Haven't prestiged yet. I'm on level 68. I don't think i'd fancy starting all challenges again. Having said that, it'll be a while before next Cod is out so i'd probably have the time.

iuse the silencer and scavanger alot....on the m4a1

was so happy too get 250 headshots as i had every other challange for it completed....only to realise its now 350......and 500 :(

its fairly stupid though....somtimes you shoot a guy right in the face with som guns and he just flinches but is still alive....

I started using my machine pistol a bit more last night. It made a serious difference. Great moment on skidrow in FFA where I killed 4 players running into one of the buildings after me with one clip. Now it has a silencer and a red dot sight. I'm trying to get into the habit of switching from the AR when I'm in more confined areas.

I was getting headshots yesterday with my FAMAS that weren't being counted as headshots. We're talking about 3 feet away, taking time to aim carefully and then not getting the extra points :(

I'm level 39 or so now. From the sounds of things, I might just prestige once and then spend the rest of my days levelling up the weapons and perks.

The PP-2000, with extended mags and FMJ is a savage secondary weapon, it combined with a sniper rifle is like the Overkill perk in MW1, without the loss of stopping power, I have clocked up over 700 kills with it so far.

The bling perk as has already been mentioned is a great way of completing 2 challenges at the same time so you get you levelling points faster.

I've found the SCAR to be very useful for raking up XP, Tavor - 21 ain't bad either.
