    Hi going unreg here.

My bf got 5 missed calls yesterday from a girl on private number. When he answered she said hello Rory(fake bf name) and he said yes who's this and she replied Clare(fake girl name) to which he responded oh sorry I must have the wrong number. My bf rang me and told me about this so I don't think I really have anything to be worried about but the fact he's a bit jealous and thinks the worst if I get a phone call from a bloke and that people go out and get drunk and sleep around the whole time and nightclubs are dens of eniquity. has me thinking well if this what he thinks happens in these situation is this what he does?

I just find it strange the girl got his name and number right and then she was like oh must have the wrong number, would you be worried? I'm far from the jealous type just find this odd.

I meant to say he replied to her and said I don't know any Clare to which she said oh I must have the wrong number and hung up the phone again.

He answered, it was a wrong phone number and he hung up... What exactly is the problem here?

And no, if your boyfriend thinks nightclubs are places where the promiscuous hook up or whatever, that doesn't necessarily mean he does the same.

The problem is she knew who he was and must have got his number somewhere. What are the chances of someone ringing up and saying oh "Rory" this being the right name and it turning to out to be a wrong number. I'm not paranoid, jealous about this but i'm wondering more so am i too naive in just accepting that this is perfectly innocent, as I know if the shoe was on the other foot my bf would wreck my head about it. I'm not the jealous bunny boiler type and i've always been of the attitude is someones gonna cheat there is nothing you can do about it and basically good riddance to them.

Maybe it's someone your boyf knew ages ago and she has a few Rorys on her phone. She might be ringing it up thinking it's someone else. I've had a few calls like that myself.

Yeah its probably nothing, just wouldn't like to think i'm being naive in trusting him so much.

If he really goes to nightclubs, gets hammmered sleeps/flirts with girls, gives them his number and has to then field phone calls from them, why would he tell you about the call? Unless he's thick or a bit of a drama queen and trying to make you jealous it'd be a weird choice to make.

Well has he ever given you any reason not to trust him? Trusting your OH does not make one naive. And besides, without trust, your relationship will fall apart.

a few weeks back i was meeting a friend of my girlfriends,i assumed i had her number as her name was on my phone. So i rang her to see if she was there, however the person i rang was a different girl with the same name.I think i may have gotten the number a few years ago,how im not sure.I just had to apologise and say i had the wrong number. Point is,i knew her name, had her number, yet have no idea who she is,so your bf's situation could be similar.

It might sound strange but things like this can happen, just by pure coincidence. A girl (who has the same name as me) rang my parents house - she had tried to ring her own parents but the number was one digit different. She said to my mother, "Hi Mum" and my mother said, "Who is this??" to which the girl replied, "Mum, it's me Sinéad". And my mother was thinking then it was me but with a strange voice! It was a bit of a muddle but the girl realised she wasn't talking to my mother and my mother realised it wasn't me on the phone!
