    Hi,

How can you find out if someone has a criminal record in the UK?
Can an irish solicitor do this through the Gardi or something?

    cheers

    Nope.

Suggest you telephone the prosecuting authority in the UK and ask who can procure the information. Probably nobody outside of a prosecuting authority in another country.

You could start here. Not sure if you are looking at it for yourself of from an employers point of view.
