Just checked the scoring on the SA Open and Eduardo Molinari is off to a flyer again, -4 for his first round.

It just got me thinking about potential ryder cup pairings if himself and his brother were picked.

    McIlroy and McDowell
    Molinari and Molinari
    Poulter and Fisher
    Westwood and Casey
    Hanson and Karlsson

    some potentially solid pairings there

McIlroy and McDowell: If McDowell qualifies, you could partner McIlroy with anyone though
Molinari and Molinari: Not a chance in both brothers qualifying tbh
    Poulter and Fisher: Good choice
Westwood and Casey: Someone like Kaymer may suit Casey better maybe
Hanson and Karlsson: Why would you put Hanson anywhere before Stenson?

sorry I actually meant Stenson not Hanson, I think if McDowell is there or there abouts he'll get a captains pick purely because himself and Rory gel so well together on the course. Completely forgot about Kaymer, we should have a decent side this year

Don't think Garcia and Harrington would be too happy about who's left over...:D

McIlroy and Westwood would be unreal together too but I couldn't waste both of them on a single pairing.

We should try name the team before actual painings though!

how many members in a team
    10 +2 is it?

I could be wrong conno but I think montgomery changed it so he could have 3 captains picks, so that leaves 9 automatics.

    McIlroy and McDowell
    Westwood and Fisher
    Harrington and Kaymer
    Stenson and Molinari
    Garcia and Quiros
    Poulter and Casey

I think the above 12 all have a great chance of making the team.

A while to go yet but the above 12 look good to me. You'd have to put Garcia with a good putter tho, no point pairing him up with a fellow bomber.
I rekon Castano, Dyson and Chris Wood could be knocking on the door also. We'll see.

Forgot about Ollie Wilson. Good shout. When he's in form he's very very good. Would like to see him in there. Dunno about Luke Donald. I know the wrist injury set him back bigtime and he was in great form up until then but he has a hell of a lot of work to do to get back to where he was. Have to say though, at this moment in time the european team looks a strong one whichever 12 goes to Wales.

    1.Monty & Sandy
    2.Sandy & Monty
    3.Montgomerie & Lyle
    4.Lyle & Montgomerie
    5.Sandy Lyle & Colin Montgomerie

I'm not sure how they'll get on as a pairing but the fireworks they'll produce will make for classic Rdyer cup veiwing.

Some great pairings there. Garcia/Quiros would be very exciting and Harrington/Kaymer would be interesting to watch

Edoardo could get a masters start with a top 9 today (currently t5) to move him into the world top 50
