I don't know if this is the right forum to be speaking about this. But was having a problem with it playing a High Definition film. Please move this thread Mr Mod if i am in the wrong place, and apologies!

I badly need your feedback here. I got my hands on 9 the film, problem is, my friend was trying to showcase his new Master Audio amp off to me with this film using a WD TV Player version 1 connected to an oldish (2-3 years possibly) Sharp LCD TV. It's connected via HDMI lead and optical cable to amp. The movie plays with picture and sound perfectly for a good 10 seconds, when it shows the company that produced the movie's splash logo and then nothing, just a black screen. Any ideas? It was playing from a Maxtor pocket 500Gb drive, i suppose i could switch it to my WD pocket 500Gb drive to rule it out being the drive? It plays fine and past that point on my laptop which would kind of rule out the drive unless it was just compatibility between the maxtor drive and WD TV High Def player :-(
Any help or troubleshooting tips greatly appreciated.
Just to add he's on firmware: 1.02.07 and i have told him to upgrade this to the latest.

Problems also with Dolby - The Sound Of High Defnition 2 files.

This came up on my friend's WD TV and plays perfect sound wise connected to his Sharp LCD TV and 7.1 Master Audio amp, but it comes up with Digital Audio up the top of the screen and unsupported audio? :-(
    Any ideas anyone!

I am thinking could it be the drive, and the buffer can't get the data to the hd player quick enough? USB2 limiting it?
