    Hi all,

I will be applying for JSA soon and want to know how much (if anything) benefit I will receive for my wife as a qualified adult dependent.

She works a minimum wage job - 16 hours a week so obviously I wont be entitled to the full €135 amount for her.

Any ideas what happens here? is the dependent benefit reduced or axed all together because she is working.

    Thanks in advance.

FYI for people with the same query:

From 26 September 2007 - Earnings from insurable employment are assessed as means using the following method:

Under the new means assessment (from 26 September 2007) a family rate less means applies. The family rate is based on a personal rate, a full qualified adult rate and full qualified child rate less means. If the customer has a spouse/partner in employmnet a disregard of €20.00 a day also applies to the spouse/partner for a maximum of 3 days a week (maximum €60.00 a week) and the balance is assessed at 60%.
