New engine for 03 vectra 2.2 diesel

    Hope someone can help point me in the right direction. The engine in my vauxhall vetra died. It was a 2.2 turbo diesel from the 03 sri model. Looking for a replacement and rough prices. Is it possible to put the 1.9 diesel engine into it or would i need to get a new ecu?

    Based in Dublin but can travel North if neccessary. Is it worth putting the money into it?

    1.9 diesel has a 6 speed gearbox so you would need a new gearbox also among other modifications. It is possible to do it but I would imagine it would cost more than the car is worth.

    Give www.traynors.co.uk up North a ring, they deliver to the South. The Omega and numerous Saabs had that 2.2 diesel too.

    +1. Saab engine exactly the same. Your car is worth about 3 - 4k so budget with that in mind. Had the 2.2 DTi Vectra myself. It didn't sell at all down south do its valued accordingly
