Paperless office anytime soon?

One of my suppliers send me an invoice this week and at the back was a request to sign up to their e-invoice system. oh and by the way there will be a €1 charge to receive the paper invoice after from Jan. Anyway was wondering why more of this isnt going on either for business or the home?

For most suppliers, the cost of the technology has too long a payback period..
