    Hi All

If I import something like a passenger Trooper or Surf from the UK and then convert it to commericial before paying the VRT ( I won't be driving it
till its converted ) do I only pay the commericial vrt of €50 or could I be caught for the passenger vrt as thats what it was when it was imported ?. I know people will say that there are plenty of them in Ireland but I have my eye on two particulary clean ones in the UK .

    Thanks for help

Theres a lot of varying opinions on this vrt thing. Why dont you just phone your local vrt/revenue office?
Take a look at the revenue online service. www.ros.ie
