Best settings for Sony Bravia LCD TV

I've got a Sony Bravia 32" LCD TV with 1080p capability. The model number is KDL32D3000.

It's come to my attention recently that I may not have it setup to use the optimum settings for the best picture quality. I have a PS3 which I watch Blu-Ray films on and while the picture quality can be good, I've often not noticed much difference between it and a normal DVD.

I'm aware that some films are produced with an intentional "look", such as a slightly grainy picture which masks the difference that high definition can make. I've other dvd's such as WWE wrestling DVD's which are Blu-Ray and the picture quality is very good and there's a big difference in picture quality.

Having said that, I guess it's possible I don't have the various settings configured for optimal visual quality.

Anyone got any tips for settings I should switch on/off or change?

I don't have a surroud sound system and the TV is 32". I'd like a bigger TV but that's not really on the cards at the moment.

    Thanks.

    I recommend getting a Blu-Ray calibration Disc.

There is no settings that anyone can tell you to turn on or off or adjust, because it is entirely dependent on the conditions at the time.

I have done the calibration for two settings, one for daylight, one for night time.

    Similar question -

I've just picked up a Sony KDL32-EX503 & a BD370. I'm adding this to the UPC HD box & XBox 360, an older Sony Amp.

A few years ago I had a pretty sweet setup for the day, Mission Speakers (700s). The new house isn't big enough for them, so I've got a Onkyo 5.1 for the moment. Good for movies and the radio, but poor for decent music playback.

(Playing the long game here though, the Missions are in storage and will be making a welcome back in the future!)

I need advive with the HD screen setup for the UPC box & Blu Ray player. Most XBox games come with calibration screens built in, but the console controls those settings not the TV.

Does anyone gave an advice on screen setups? I don't really want to wait for a week for a disk to be shipped.

I'd be especially interested in any settings details that people with the same (& similar) screens, that I could experiment with.

When I get everything setup again, I'll stick up a picture.
