    Hello

In regard to facebook, how do I prevent myself from appearing in Suggestions?

i.e. I have a friend X and he has loads of friends, its seems I can randomly appear on any of Friend X's friends homepage when they log in to facebook . ie. they may see me as a " suggestion " of a friend

Now I have all my privacy settings done correctly, i.e only friends can see me and not a public profile etc.

I know facebook have chanjged their security settings lately, any idea on how never to appear as friend " suggestion " on anyones page ???

Are you talking about the suggestion like "Name Here / Add As Friend" or "Name Here / Reconnect/post on wall/whatever"?

I don't think you would show up on suggestions if your profile is fully private (and I mean you've selected it so only you can add people, they can't add you), but you would show up on suggestions if you were already friends with the person because Facebook tries to get people to communicate with friends on their lists they haven't interacted with for some time.

im talking about when one of my friends freinds logs in the facebook and there I am as a friend suggestion for my friend of a friend.

so my friends friends are people I dont even know in most cases and I show up on my friends friends as a suggestion for them to add me to facebook when they really havent a clue who I am

Worst case scenario is they try to add you and you just hit the ignore button. They still can't see any of your information, details, pictures, etc.

Best case scenario is, just double check that you've made sure that ONLY YOU can add friends, and people CANNOT add you, and that should fix the problem. If not, refer to the worst case scenario, which is at least liveable.

That's very strange, sounds like it was just something that was overlooked in the privacy revamp Facebook has done recently.

Anyway, does it really matter if they can see your friends, at the end of the day..? Your friends are equally able to hit the ignore button on any incoming friend requests. The worst that can happen is they can see the profile pictures of your friends, and I don't see that as being such a big deal, they probably have seen you in real life anyway, and it's only a photo.

    think its an oversight alright

suppose not really a massive deal but just makes Facebook less private than what it was before their new security settings that came in in the last couple of weeks

Actually, other than that which appears to simply be an oversight, Facebook is a lot more private than it was previously. You have the ability to control exactly who sees what individually or by group. You can make it so people can see your status updates but not your wall posts, or vice versa, etc.

I like it a lot better than before, it's much more customizable and easy to configure. Just need to take a bit to go through it and double check things.
