    Hello all,

I am currently in the mist of opening a new little restaurant in dublin
I am having fierce difficulty in trying to locate a price for obtaining a line to sell wine and beer at my premises. Does anyone know how much it is or where i can get information about it??

Any suggestions would be much appreciated,

    Thanks

Usual procedure is to buy a licence and transfer it. They tend to cost tends if not hundreds of thousands of euros. Wine only licences may be cheaper to obtain.

You might have a look for solicitors that deal with licencing applications to the courts.

    This is not quite correct.

Restaurants can apply for different licences.

Last time I looked at this it was about 250 euro for the wine licence and roughly 600 for the beer licence. For the wine licence you need a tax clearence cert, a fire cert for the building your looking at and a garda needs to do a backround check on you and also inspect the premises.

As far as Im aware, for the beer licence you need to do the above and a judge needs to appoint the beer licence. Ive heard of judges personally visiting sites to inspect them!!!

These licencies run september to september and even if you apply in june I think its the same price. Also it needs to be renewed in court every year.

It has been a year since I looked into this so maybe some of these have changed...

all the rules for licences have changed now.

you better check out with a solicitor as you now even need to go to court for a wine licence never mind a "full" licence
