I am interested in getting a time trial bike next year.I have a Trek madone road bike. Not sure if trek would be the best option for a tt bike.Any suggestions on what brands are the best? What of money would you need to be spending?

What of money would you need to be spending?

What sort of money do you want to spend?

I recently bought a Planet-X Stealth Pro Carbon. They're not currently doing the exact spec, but it was £999 built, £1,150 with a few options. I've since upgraded the clip-ons and changed the saddle. Can't really fault it. Not very bling, but well screwed together, everything works, and it's plenty light enough.

The nearest they have right now is an Ultegra version with 50mm carbon wheels for £1500 built.

Ribble have some good value stuff, their new website seems less crap than the last attempt, and you can build to a precise spec.

Lots of choice from the usual suspects (Cervelo, Specialized etc) if you want to spend more.

Get a Trek, The Trek Speed Concept, one of the nicest TT bikes around*

*Not released yet and will be the most expensive too when it is.

Probably willing to spend £2500-£3000.Heard a lot of talk about the cervelo p3.I like the treks but they can be pricey. My road bike is a 58cm and fits me perfect. When going for a tt bike, should you go for slightly smaller?

0083327, can confirm that too. I have seen that particular Quintana obliterate the opposition under its current owner. I'd want an engine on my Planet X Stealth to even hold onto his wheel !

The Quintana is unlikely to fit you if you currently ride a (58cm) road bike.
Its a medium (53cm) top tube.
