spend about 20 minutes reading that.

in a nutshell you do this...

    >> figure out what software OS iPhone is running.

    >> choose a jailbreak and unlocking method.
    >>>>>> Mac: PwnageTool (jailbreak) / ultrasn0w (unlock) or BlackRa1n (jailbreak) / Blacksn0w (unlock).
    >>>>>> PC: BlackRa1n (jailbreak) / Blacksn0w (unlock).

    >> enjoy the benefits of a unlocked iPhone.

    >> enjoy the fact knowing that you learned how to do such an easy process and not give 15/20 euro to someone who has just done a bit of reading and research.

Thanks.... But... I'm a TOTAL technophobe!! Was wondering if theres a shop or anything in town that'll do that if I drop my phone in?

    What town?

There are 1000's of towns in Ireland alone.

I only know Dublin and there's a strip of mobile phone unlocking stores on aungier/georges street that I'm sure will welcome your money.

Tbh I think that if you can register on boards and post you qualified enough to jailbreak/unlock iPhone. If you're looking for peace of mind well you won't get much from these shops really if they brick it. They won't give you a new iPhone. I'd rather blame myself if I bricked my iPhone rather than somebody else.

*NOTE* it is very very unlikely that you can brick your iPhone from this process.
