    Hi,

I'm on a three day week and have 8 and a half days holidays left to take. My employer has said they will be paying me four days holiday pay.... I wont be back at work untill the second week of Jan. I will be off for 2 weeks in total can they only pay me for four days?

I'm really confused, I really need the money over christmas....

I would imagine it would depend on the terms of your contract, and the reasons why you have that much holiday left.

If the firm didnt allow you to take the holidays during the year you should be able to push for some recompense (not necessarily financial though), if you however just didnt take them and your company has specific guildelines around vacation time you are probably out of luck.

My company for example, allows me to carry over a maximum of 5 days into next year, but they must be used by end of March. If i don't use them, I lose them. Under no circumstances (apart from leaving the company) can I actually get paid for unused holidays.
