    Hi Sidetracker

the main grant available is the Home Energy Saving Scheme. It covers things like roof insulation, wall insulation, high efficiency boilers and heating control upgrades.

The Warmer Homes Scheme is focused on low income households and covers things like attic insulation, draught proofing, lagging jackets, energy efficient lighting, cavity wall insulation.

Both schemes are administered by Sustainable Energy Ireland.

You can find out more here: http://www.sei.ie/grants/

    Hi Graham,

My grandmother is over 65 and living on her own, I know about the SEI grant for insulation but is there any other grants she would be entitled to for insulation work and upgrading to double glazing windows etc?

Any info would be great. cheers

    Hi sonic.trip

There is a means-tested grant called Housing Aid for Older People that can be used for that sort of work - doors, windows, re-wiring and similar.

You can find out more about it here: http://www.citizensinformation.ie/categories/housing/housing-grants-and-schemes/housing_aid_for_older_persons_scheme
