Problem with Acer Aspire One Notebook ?

Hey cant figure out a problem with my netbook any help ? When I turn it on the logo comes up fine on the screen and it looks to be starting up but then the actual main screen never appears it just stays black . Its running on linux any help is appriciated thanks .
