Moisturizing cream burning/stinging my skin - eyes

    Hi,
I've started using this stuff recently because this weather is really drying out my skin.

For my face yesterday I used nivea for men rehydrating moisturizer and this morning I used ck one moisturizing cream.

Both of them really hurt the skin around my eyes - was getting a burning sensation and the ck one I used this morning has definitely damaged the skin.
In both instances I've washed the cream off with water as soon as it started stinging/burning.

I'm not gonna use any of those two creams there anymore but I do really need something I think. I understand that skin around the eyes is much thinner so I'd imagine there should be something good out there specifically for that? Any ideas appreciated - thanks.

The skin around the eyes is very sensitive so if the creams are stinging keep them away from your eyes. Try to get a good eye cream for that area instead. Nivea for men eye cream is supposed to be good, my brother uses it, he had the same problem as you but has no stinging or soreness now using that eye cream.

Great to hear your brother got around the problem.

I am aware of Q10 eye cream for men from Nivea but thought it was just for tired eyes. I'll look into it again though - maybe there is something else.

    Thank u! :)

No worries :) Not exactly sure what eye cream he uses, I just know it's a Nivea one so hopefully you might find it in Boots or somewhere. Or maybe someone else on here will have a better product to recommend for you :)

My brother uses E45 lotion. Doesn't seem to hurt him even though he has really sensitive skin.

You should never use moisturiser close to your eyes. Feel around your eyes for the bone of the socket - that's as close as you should ever go. The capillaries around your eyes are tiny and absorb the moisturiser, bringing it up to the skin you haven't moisturised. Putting it on too close to your eye is guaranteed to cause stinging.

    What she said^^^

But also, the CK one would be highly fragranced which I'd say would irritate your eyes also.

Think this one is worth trying, a lot of men I know use it. Shoud be good for sensitive skin.
