Mondeo boot hydraulics

Was at the beach recently and a massive gust of wind came along and pushed up the boot of my already open boot of my mondeo 5-door hatchback. There was a lot of hissing after it and it appeared that gas or something was escaping from the hydraulic thingies on both sides of the boot which aid in opening/closing and keeping it open.

Now boot won't stay open and is bloody heavy to open!

Anyone know if this is an easy/expensive fix? Should I drop it into a dealer or is it easy enough to do to just get the parts and do it myself?

    Cheers
