Thought I'd kick off something like this... I've seen it in other forums and it works well to build up a rapport between forum regulars, and it is somewhere newcomers can come and say hi if they want.

    See how it goes anyway!

I'm Dave, I live in Castleconnell in Co. Limerick and I'm a TV-oholic. Don't ask me how much I watch in a week, but its a bit. :p

I'm not a lard-ass couch potato though - I go to the gym 5 times a week and plan to run the Limerick half marathon and Dublin City marathon next year. I'm an amateur photographer in my spare time, and host a friendly game of poker with friends once a week.... I'm also a gamer (Xbox360/PS3/NDS), and have recently discovered a treasure trove of great games for my new iPod Touch.

So far this TV season, I've really enjoyed Dexter, Fringe, and Paradox this season so far. I'm a reality TV nut, and watch alot of the standard stuff in that genre... Survivor, The Apprentice (IE) and Top Chef have been highlights for me over the last few months.

I work in internet software company (Email Marketing and Online Surveys) based here in Limerick. I've been here for almost 8 years now. Things are going well (thank god) - hopefully we can ride out the big bad R without any trouble.

Big into movies too - I go to the cinema once a week (sometimes twice). I'd watch anything to be honest. A friend of mine said I'd go and watch 2 flies crawling up the screen if I got a chance. (I probably would, but not if I have to pay €9.80 for the privilege)

Thats about it really.... who's next? :)

I'm Brian. I live in Sligo... and enjoy lesser-known Argentinian TV series. Unlike Dave, I am a self-confessed couch potato.

Have a degree in Computing from Sligo IT, and have a healthy knowledge of software programming (C#, SQL, VB, Prolog), hardware, networking and AI (not the Haley Joel Osment bore!). In my spare time, I enjoy long walks on the beach staring at my shadow and pondering "if a tree falls in the wood, does a squirrel somewhere cry at the prospect of losing his home?!".

Have too many favourite shows to mention but honourable mentions to Freaks & Geeks, Firefly, Arrested Development, Phoenix Nights, Life on Mars, The Simpsons (pre-Season 10), Black Books, Spaced and Scrubs. Too many more to mention but they roll off the top of my head. My guilty pleasure TV series was the superb-and-too-harshly-criticized 'Gilmore Girls'.

Best new shows of the season in my eyes have been Modern Family, Misfits, The Middle, Nurse Jackie and Being Human. But it's probably been the weakest year for promising new series for as far as I can remember.

Am also a gamer (360, PS3, DS) though I play shag all these days. Have been focusing my time on some personal web development. Last game I really enjoyed was 'Batman: Arkham Asylum' - absolutely amazing game if you've not played.

And can't forget my movie obsession - am a big movie buff and enjoy the movies of Quentin Tarantino, Judd Apatow, Kevin Smith, James Cameron, the Edgar Wright / Simon Pegg / Nick Frost combination, Robert Rodriguez, M Night Shyamalan (though his last two movies were awful) and let's not forget David Fincher.

Have a terrible obsession of buying stuff I don't need and rarely use - e.g a 5 foot pool table squashed into a room I couldn't even swing a cat in (and I've tried, and have went through 18 cats in the process).

Am currently watching: Band of Brothers in glorious 1080P Blu-ray.

Hi, I'm Cian. Born and Bred in Dublin. Currently unemployed, due to the Country being in an absolute shambles, but hopefully will have some work coming my way early in the new year... I do a bit of everything to do with media and entertainment - I'm an actor, but also do a lot of the behind the scenes production when I get the chance too. I'm also a radio presenter and have presented many radio shows for community radio over the last few years - currently have three of them going at once. I also do a good bit of writing, won and award for a play I wrote last year, and am currently working on a script for a TV comedy pilot and working on a novel at the same time. Most recently I've been trying to break into the stand-up comedy circuit. In my spare time I like talking about myself (obviously :D), hanging out with my friends and watching tv/movies.

I watch a lot of TV, but see it as research for my career - ;):D.
My favourite tv shows include... The Wire, The Sopranos, Oz, Freaks and Geeks, Father Ted, Black Books, The Inbetweeners, The IT Crowd, Lost, House, Bones, Shameless, Doctor Who, Torchwood, Monk, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dexter, Survivor, How I Met Your Mother, Rásaí na Gaillimhe, Seacht, and True Blood.
My guilty pleasures would be Fair City and Ros na Rún.

I'm also a big movie fanatic... The Breakfast Club, The Warriors, The Van, Into The West, and Stand By Me are some of my favourites.

And of course who doesn't like music - Mumford and Sons, Foo Fighters, Kíla, Weezer, Counting Crows, Staind, and The Beatles are my favourite bands.

That's pretty much me in a nutshell... check out my blog http://ciantaaffe.blogspot.com for further insight...

Hiya!...my name is Richard Dower and i'm an alcoholic, wait....am i in the right forum?
Actually, i'm a 13-year-old-girl who loves teenie bopper shows like Gossip Girl and The Hills...swoon at Taylor Launter, wear pink lip gloss and can cry on command!

My ambition is to get a boob job and become a glamour model, i love the idea o ftaking poor saps money, but if they ever come near me on the street they get an "eww" while me and my friends giggle at them as we walk away.

None of the above is true, but i have to make the thread interesting or it'll die on it's arse.

I'm Shaun and I watch a disgusting amount of TV. :pac: Fallen behind a bit as I'm commuting to TCD the last 3 months and I've not had too much time lately. I'm 21 and in first year doing Science, hoping to do Zoology later. :pac: I'm a total couch potato unfortunately, something I'm hoping to change, though it's been a long time hoping already.

Favorite shows are, in no particular order, Old Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, Arrested Development, The Wire, The Shield, Dexter, Breaking Bad, Old Scrubs, and a load more I can't think of off the top of my head.

In terms of "live" TV I'd say I most often watch sport. I love Formula 1, NASCAR, any motorbikes, IndyCar and Rugby League. Rugby League is the greatest sport in the world. Look at that list again and you'll realise just how annoying the winter is for me. :pac:

As I said I've been fairly busy since September and with the lack of free time I've stuck to the reliable TV shows I already know I like, so I've a decent amount to check out over Christmas.

I've been getting through some DVDs and BDs lately (even though I have an old ~25inch 4:3 TV :P). Big into my documentaries, and also love the Matrix movies. Not much into films overall to be honest, very rare that I'd watch one before the DVD was out. Think it's over a year since I've been to the cinema.

Hello! I'm The Black Oil and I'm from Dublin. I don't watch as much TV as I used to, but I am rather fond of boxsets. I have gotten into a variety of shows through word of mouth (internet and friends) and really enjoy this way of viewing shows.

The X Files was my favourite show when I was growing up, I stuck with it all the way and I think Mulder and Scully will always be my heroes. I accept it's not a perfect show, but it will probably always be my favourite and it gave me so much enjoyment. After that, I think the next big show I got into was The West Wing and I was hooked quite early on...I didn't really know what to expect, but it was pretty much brilliant. Characters who were intelligent, dedicated, interesting and compassionate, from the admin staff right through to POTUS, and importantly, the issues being discussed actually mattered. Other series I've gotten into include The Shield, The Wire, The Sopranos, Six Feet Under, John Adams, Millennium, Murder One, Deadwood, Carnivale, Band of Brothers, Bleak House (2005) and I enjoy one off things like Into The Storm with Brendan Gleeson. It's very hard to pick a favourite amongst that bunch.

I avoid reality TV because that would result in a sledgehammer hitting the screen. :) Top Gear is probably the only thing I follow on TV at the moment (outside of the odd bit of news, etc), I'm waiting for House and Fringe to come back from their respective breaks and need to find Mad Men series 3. I recently purchased a few series of Homicide: Life on the Street and House of Cards. I must also finish BSG. I always have a boxset of something on the go and swap DVDs with friends.

I'm already thinking of what to get into next (maybe Friday Night Lights or Supernatural), but I should finish some other things first. *puts credit card away*

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,192 ✭✭✭TarfHead

My name is, eh, not TarfHead and TV has become something of an obsession for me over the past few years. Well, maybe obsession is not the appropriate word, but I do spend an inordinate amount of time acquiring content and shunting across various media storage devices. In fact I possibly spend more time acquiring and managing the content, than I do actually consuming it.

I am married with 2 kids and we have 3 TVs. As it is, my wife’s tastes in TV and my own rarely coincide, so there’s a limit to what we would watch together, and a limit to the time available to me to watch what I want. As the kids get older there will more demand on the TVs and competition for the remote.

Last Saturday evening, for example, I was watching a match on SKY Sports on one TV, she and our little 7yo daughter were watching X Factor on a second TV while the 9yo son was on a third TV watching the latest Harry Potter.

The list of unwatched content (TV, boxsets, movies) is a long one. And yet I keep acquiring more as it become available.

My first foray into this area was to rip my own boxset of 24 Day One to DivX and then convert it, using bought software, so that I could play it on my HP iPAQ.

Through boards, I heard about and bought a Packard Bell Store’n’Play unit, which was my first experience of playing such content through a TV. It is still, occasionally, in use, but requires a lot of maintenance , specifically defragging.

We’ve moved on to personal CREATIVE media players. Not as stylish or iconic as an iPOD but my preference when it comes to TV. I have had a Vision:M for over 2 years now and, although clunky, think it’s a great piece of kit. So long as iPODs lack a TV Out and an FM radio, I sticking with the Vision:M. The TV Out feature has been invaluable when on holiday and the kids are awake early. They can watch a movie on TV and leave us to sleep on. On holidays, that’s a benefit that is priceless.

I keep making resolutions to watch less, acquire less, yet once something new become available, I’m having some.

Maybe obsession is the appropriate word  ?

The idea for this thread is finding out about the person behind the username. We all know about your inner 13 year-old girl (as disturbing as that is :p), but what about the real Richard Dower? What do you do for a living?

I watch a lot of TV, but see it as research for my career ;):D

Are you a Waste Management Consultant? :pac:
I'm unemployed since graduating last year, currently doing some voluntary work. I do sometimes use our Skybox to record things, but my sister uses about 60% of it to record a fair amount of rubbish...I'm a big fan of podcasts, NPR, BBC, Mark Kermode, etc.

Can't believe there's a few things I forgot to include: Stargate SG1, only saw series 1-8, but they were very enjoyable, the mythology actually seemed to make sense, the bad guys were fun and there was a good dynamic between the team members. Star Trek The Next Generation, I'll generally watch this if it's on repeat somewhere. Voyager is a bit silly and has some painful characters, but is still fairly watchable. I never got around to finishing Firefly. :o Finally, From The Earth to the Moon which is a very good mini series from HBO, the story of how the Americans got to the moon with a good few familiar faces amongst the cast.

Hi, my name is Leigh and I'm a media addict.

Mainly visual media. Music... meh, not so much. Never listen to music, not when I'm on the bus, or planes. Prefer to take in the soundtrack of the world around me when I'm not looking at a screen.

Favourite shows currently: Lost, Breaking Bad, Bored to Death, Dexter, Hung, Lie to me, Mad Men, Modern Family, Mythbusters, Peep show, Curb your Enthusiasm, South Park, True Blood, Survivor.

Shows I liked enough to rewatch: Star Trek: TNG, Arrested Development, X-Files, Space: Above and Beyond, The Mysterious Cities of Gold.

I watch all my shows on my HTPC that's connected to my TV and audio amp. I'm a bit of a HD snob now and will always wait for the 1080p version with 5.1 surround. Circa 2005 I used to not watch TV at all really, only casually flicked between the channels watching whatever was on. Lost was the first show that truly got me addicted, when I heard the first episode of Season 2 was out in the states I had to find it and watch it. It snowballed from there, now I watch all my shows as they air in the US. Can't say I watch terrestrial TV at all.

Also into: Cheesy action movies, foreign cinema, psychological horrors. Also throw at least one or two Anime TV shows into the rotation each year. Don't watch near enough as I'd like though. Last few I watched where Ergo Proxy, Elfin Lied and Gurren Lagann. Starting Darker than Black and Black Lagoon atm.

First and foremost I'm a gamer though. Love games. Games got me into building PC's and pushed me to go for an Electronic engineering degree. Playing through Fallout 3 atm (and for the next few months I'd guess as I'm already a few weeks into it and I've barely covered 20% of the map) and practicing a lot with Street Fighter IV. Just finished God of War I and II over the last week.

All this being said, I hate how sedentary my interests are atm. Used to snowboard, hike and climb a fair bit. So this time next year I will be settled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies with the OH. No ifs about it, the wheels are all currently in motion. Decided I needed some body shock and an environment completely out of my comfort zone. I love my media, but I also want to live somewhere where I can balance it with some of the other outdoor activities I'm interested in.

Hello. My name is Sarah, I'm 19, and I think I have a problem with television. I was reluctant to come to this thread because I thought I could handle it but I realised there might be something wrong when I was unable to walk away from a "Come Dine with me" marathon as I had to find out whether Belinda would burn the spinach or not.

I thought I was doing well. I left an abusive relationship with "Lost". It took a lot of courage to walk away but it was just messing with my head and I think I deserve better.
Unfortunately, while I was trying to study for Christmas exams I was seduced by a stranger called "The Wire". Mutual friends of ours introduced us and before I knew what was happening I had watched the first series and knew a worrying amount about drug-dealing and chicken mcnuggets.
My friends and family don't know the full extent of the problem as I watch so much tv online.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Hi,

    Great idea for a thread.

    I'm mid
    (late)
twenties from southside Dublin who watches loads of TV. I have a degree in Journalism and a MA in Radio and TV production and I work in TV production as well so it is a massive part of my life. So like Captain Negative, I use research as an excuse to watch lots of trashy television. :o

I'm a big sports fan so the majority of television time is spent watching some sort of sport. And that is especially true now that the American football season is starting to reach a climax. Along with the premier league, champions league, UFC and boxing that takes up the majority of my TV time and means that I often fall behind TV shows that I like. I'm about two seasons behind Lost, one and a half behind Heroes and a season behind the US Office, Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

All of them are great shows. My all time favourites would be The Simpsons (pre season 10!), Only Fools and Horses, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Doctor Who, The Apprentice, The Sopranos and The West Wing. As much as I try, I just can't get into The Wire. That may be down to being sick of people comparing everything negatively to The Wire. Yeah it is gritty. So ****ing what!

I used to be a big fan of Top Gear but I'm a bit bored with it at the moment. I also watch some trash such as I'm a Celebrity... although I got bored with that half way through the recent series.

I have loads of Boxsets to get through and I recently got the complete Blackadder. I'm also currently enjoying Band of Brothers in Hi-Def glory. And I just bought the Francis Urquhart House of Cards trilogy that is brilliant TV. If anyone is a a fan of political tv like The West Wing or even Yes Minister then this is the show for you:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0001Y9YEI/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_1?pf_rd_p=471057153&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=0006176909&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=0DNA9Y8H4X01WW2MDCVK

The best TV show that I have seen this year was definitely Torchwood: Children of Earth. That was amazing TV and I was hooked for the five episode run.

I really like this forum and many of the shows that I have watched have been because of recommendations from here. In fact, I think I first started lurking here in 2006 and posters were discussing a new show called Heroes and I started to figure out how to acquire shows before they air here. So if I get busted, I'm blaming all of you!!:D

I'm a gamer too (isn't everyone on boards?!) and I own a 360, PS3, Wii and DS. Currently I'm playing God of War 1 remastered on the PS3 and The Saboteur on the 360. And I'm looking forward to playing the new Zelda DS game over Xmas. Hopefully I get Uncharted 2 as well!

I also love movies but recently cinema prices have seemed way too expensive so I am going less. A couple of times over the past month or so I wanted to go to the cinema during a weekday afternoon but I was unwilling to pay nearly a tenner for a ticket. Although, I'm going to see Avatar tonight so am excited about that.

    Hello :)

I just turned 24 yesterday-this time next year I'll be a quarter of a century old .

Love the telly. Unfortunately my brother has somehow managed to get control of it since I have been absent from home. It's proving to be impossible to regain control of what to watch....actually it's impossible to get watching anything these days/months!!! :(

I love all the old shows and am waiting for them to do re-runs of Taxi, Moonlighting,Mork n Mindy and Streets of San Fran at some stage...I doubt they will though:mad:

Gonna eventually have complete box sets of shows like that hopefully!

Watch anything and everything if it's on. Including late night weird/odd subtitled films. Even if I switch over somehow few minutes later I'm back on the channel again!

If I miss the first episode or two I hate watching the series then and will wait until it starts showing it on some other channel :D

I haven't had much of a chance to get nosey about this forum so I'll have to do that now.:p

Stephen ere, I love the television...Very few things can compare to sitting down to a new episode of your favorite show in your fav chair and stuffing your face!!

As said above I'm no couch slouch, I download lots of shows that I watch as I like to watch them in my own time. I'm working in IT, support/analyst position but I'm in DCU studying for an IT postgrad currently which is going so so!

    Favorite shows...jeez here goes:

Sopranos is defiantly number1, I love every episode more then the last no matter what order I watch them. Breaking Bad has been worth the watch, it's a bit of black comedy.

btw, shows I list are shows that to me have longevity (Family Guys is an example of a show that does not have this re-watch attribute)

On the whole I wouldnt watch too many drama based shows, comedy on the other hand...Curb, AD, Black Books, The Thin Blue Line, One Foot In The Grave, Steptoe and Son, Fr. Ted, Operation Good Guys, Mr Bean, The Thick Of It, Simpsons seasons 1-10, South Park, Peep Show...list goes on abit on the comedy end.

I would'nt class myself as a 'main-streamer'. I pretty much despise the big budget, uber polished US shows...LOST, CSI and so on, as a general rule...if the show is on in the prime time slot then I wont be watching.

Shows that I would watch ahead of any of the above is current affairs and documentary, I'm an avid news watcher, Prime Time, The Frontline, Questions and Answers.

I would sit and watch Ray Mears all day and night (no physical attraction :p), Les Stroud too, not Bear Grylls he's a phony. Im a fan of Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall also, especially his early tv days where he did a series 'A Cook On The Wild Side' which was pre river cottage, enjoyably low budget.

Documentaries - Every David Attenborugh reel of film!, War docs, nature, technology...any really, I love to absorb the knowledge.

I'll stop now, on the whole I have a very finicky taste in TV...many friends do not share my tastes and my GF not at all but Im ams who I ams!

My name is Shane.... Yes, that guy. :)

I enjoy watching TV. I enjoy such tv shows as 24, QI, Lost and the occasional X-Factor type thing.

I mainly watch films on tv as I'm a big film buff, well I like to think so anyway.

    So em..... yeah.

Hi all, I'm a girl. I watch far too much telly and I work in a library but I don't read as much as I should.

My guilty pleasures include Come Dine With Me, The Gilmore Girls and other even more embarrassing ones...

    Hi,

I watch a lot of TV shows, but generally not via normal means, as I can't stand waiting for Irish/UK TV channels to catch-up with the US channels. As such, I simply download what I want and watch it on my computer. I'm currently watching, or have watched recently, the following TV shows:

    24
    Being Human*
    FlashForward
    Fringe
    Heroes
    Good Wife, The
    Spartacus: Blood and Sand
    Stargate Universe
    Supernatural
    True Blood
    Tudors, The
    V

    * Being Human is the only TV show I've watched recently on an actual TV channel since it was shown first on BBC Three.

I'm Clementine and have slowly begun to realise that I watch far more television than the average person (well, that they'll admit to anyway). I'm in my mid-20's. I grew up glued to the telly, watching every new episode of The Simpsons, The Flash, Superman, Star Trek TNG, DS9, Saved by the Bell, The Fresh Prince etc etc. I still watch a total mixed bag of shows. Current (not cancelled yet) series that I am watching are, off the top of my head:

    30 Rock
    The Office
    The Pacific
    Greys Anatomy
    South Park
    Mad Men
    Dexter
    Project Runway*
    Top Chef*
    Come Dine With Me*

And I am still lamenting the loss of shows like Battlestar Galactica, Firefly and Buffy and feeling annoyed that series like Weeds and Entourage had the spark of something good but completely lost the run of themselves.

And that's TV me. Thanks for having me! :)

*I know these are reality TV but I have to admit all my sins :o

    Hi all,
My name is Lynda. I'm a 36 year old mother of 4 who is in her 2nd year of a science degree studying Zoology, botany and Microbiology.

I promised myself after last years 1st year exams that I would cut down on the amount of TV I watch and get more than 4 hours a night sleep but that turned out to be another lie I fed myself!!!!!
I love my Big Brother every year but also am watching currently

True Blood (just started watching it this season 2 and am hooked)
Fringe ( I adore Walter, aw bless him!)
Lost (haven't missed an episode ever and still hasn't a clue!!)
V (whenever it randomly is shown on TV3:mad:)
Flashforward(tedious at times but still watching it)
    Desperate Housewives
    Grey's Anatomy
Come dine with me(great hangover telly:))
    Ros na Run
    All the "Top Models"
The Pacific (not as good as I had expected)
    Shameless

Never had the chance to see The Wire or 24 but do hope to catch them at some stage!!!

Hey my name is John. Will watch just about anything if it's on. I don't like reality tv in general but Jersey Shore is a fantastic tv show.

Boxsets I own include The Wire, The Sopranos, The West Wing and Band of Brothers. Could watch these for the rest of my life.

I try and stay away from just about everything made by RTE bar Reeling in the Years and sometimes the News and GAA/Soccer coverage.

HI im SOTS and I don't need that much of an introduction at this stage.
Scrubs I love, LOST is a love hate thing, the West Wing I admired and of course The Wire was about the best thing ever on Television.

Well I post here often enough but never wrote an introduction, so here we go! :)

I'm Brendan, I'm 20 and I'm a 3rd year Maths & Physics student in UCC. I love television, and in the past couple of years went on an insane boxset-buying spree. Favourite TV shows of all time (that are no longer running) are:
    Six Feet Under
    The Sopranos
    Arrested Development
    The West Wing
Friends (but only the first 4 seasons, before it went crap)
    Flight of the Conchords
    Black Books
Skins (series 1 and 2, didn't like the new series so much)

I also loved the first season of The Wire but haven't got around to watching the rest yet. My latest purchase was the first season of Twin Peaks (and I loved it so I hope to get the second season sometime soon.)

My favourite shows that are still going are:
    Shameless
    30 Rock
    Mad Men
    True Blood
    Glee
    The Big Bang Theory
    United States of Tara
    The IT Crowd

I also love panel shows, such as QI, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Have I Got News For You. And my guilty pleasures are Desperate Housewives and American Idol. :D

I absolutely HATE Grey's Anatomy, Lost and any of the CSI's.

    Hi,

i'm a student in NUIG, and download most of my TV shows rather than wait for rte to import them.

    FlashForward
Fringe (which i'm about to give up on)
    Cougar Town
    Lost
    Spartacus
    Stargate Universe
    United States of Tara
    The Good Wife
    True Blood
    South Park
    Heroes
V (though i'm ashamed to admit it)
    Caprica
    and i'm rewatching Battlestar Galactica

    Hi!
I'm Lorna, I'm 37, from the UK originally, but currently live near Royston Vasey, Co. Sligo. I'm a genealogist and tour guide. I don't watch a lot of TV, I mean, I couldn't just channel surf all evening! I get the Radio Times every week and I read it from cover to cover and I mark the things I want to watch. God, that sounds sad! LOL:D I watch a lot on ITV3 (repeats of Cracker etc) and very few TV mags list ITV3.

    Favourite series:
    Six Feet Under
State of Play (the BBC series from about 7 years ago with John Simm)
    Blackadder
    Life on Mars
Spooks (especially now that Richard Armitage is in it! Was the only reason I stuck with the awful Robin Hood on the BBC a couple of years ago) :D
Time Team (Phil Harding is a {grumpy} legend) :D
    The Wire
    Father Ted
    Upstairs Downstairs
Frasier (up to when Niles and Daphne got together) currently on C4
Robin of Sherwood (especially the Michael Praed years!)
Doctor Who (not sure about Matt Smith yet but I don't like the assistant - my favourite was Tom Baker as he was nuts!)
Lost Series 1 and 2 (then gave up as life's too short)
The Thick of It (I like a good bit of swearing every now and again!)
    HIGNFY
QI (or anything with Stephen Fry in it)

    Currently watching:
    Time Team
    Luther (it's completely bonkers)
    Damages
    Ashes to Ashes
Blitz Street (real bloke stuff with lots of explosions which could have been done in one episode not four)

I'm also a fan of costume dramas but I'm fed up of the same old Austen being 'done' every few years. How about some Wilkie Collins?

Hate reality stuff. Can't stand The Apprentice - "Yes, Sir Alan, No, Sir Alan, three bags full, Sir Alan..." Cookery programmes (I cook because I need to eat, doesn't mean I enjoy it!). Vampire Stuff, don't get that at all. Desperate Housewives, Friends, and The Simpsons, never got them either. :)

Would like to see a decent gradening programme. Toby Buckland should be in the Blue Peter garden, not be the main presenter on Gardener's World. The Edible Garden (with the weird one from Gardener's World) was ruined because of gimmicky camera work and awful 'cartoons'.

    OK, rambling now...:D

Hi folks, I'm Jaxxy and a longtime lurker of the TV forums. I have a long list of quality TV programage that I enjoy and would pain me to miss. They include BBT, Castle, Chuck, House, Misfits, SGU, The Mentalist, V, The Vampire Diaries, The Inbetweeners. I also (secretly) enjoy Glee and The X Factor, but don't worry, I'll be keeping that guilty pleasure under my hat. :D

Looking forward to the return of The Walking Dead, True Blood, Breaking Bad and Dexter. Want to get back into/start getting into Boardwalk Empire, Mad Men, Fringe and (shock of all shocks and horrors!) I've yet to watch The Wire.

    Anyway, hellos! o/

I love TV shows - more so than movies. And I love my Sky+ for watching them. I very rarely sit down to watch telly - usually always sit down to watch something already recorded.

    TV shows I love:
    House
    Bones
    Big Bang Theory
Buffy - watching it religiously at the moment on Syfy :)
    Shameless
    Skins
    24
Nikita - enjoying that at the moment
I like Glee and X-factor. Can't think of any more at the moment.

    TV Shows I hate:
Anything CSI, Criminal Minds, etc etc. They always get the bad guy, without fail.
The Soaps - don't watch any of them
Painful American sitcoms - too many to name.
Anything really that tries to be moral, or any of the shows that try to be cool.
