Hi, i have a general query about starting up a delivery business. I worked for years as a driver delivering goods, now i'd like to try go out on my own. If anyone could answer any of the following questions, i would be very grateful.

    1. Is it as straight forward, that if i offer a more competitive price, i will get business?
    2. Can anyone tell me an average price per mile e.g (transit van). Are country runs, and city runs priced per mile?
    3. In my experience, clients simply want honesty. They want you to collect and deliver when you say you will,on time.. nothing else right?

If any of you reading this, use a courier service, and are unhappy with the service, perhaps PM me to discuss a trial. Im seriously thinking of offering a money back gaurantee system!!, thats how confident i feel about delivering a promise. Any tips or info will be much appreciated.

I would also like any info from people currently working in the courier industry, either working for a company or as an owner driver. I was qouted 1300 for a courier policy, is that good or bad? Please, if you can give any advice or info, please do. Im not really trying to tout business here, more just looking for info.
    Regards
    Honest Buck.
