hi just heard an ad on radio today by that great consumer quango the NCA , telling people to look out for the CE mark on toys and electrcal items for christmas presents , what they didnt inform anybody was the VERY important fact that there are two CE marks , one is a genuine quality mark the other stands for chineese export, ce and c e.
    buyer beware !!!!!.
maybe someone should tell those overpaid quango people to think before putting ads like that out, but then again why should we disturb their sleep ,

    Just to help people understand:

The European C E mark features a space between the letters

    According to Wikipedia
Some products are said to have a CE mark that stands for China Export, which is not conforming to European specifications. The two letters are close together, not spaced as in the European conformance mark.

However, the "China Export" mark doesn't exist. Some products may be conforming but not displaying the logotype correctly and others may illegally put the correct mark on a non-conforming item.

So it would appear that this so-called "China Export" mark is more a case of a poorly formed genuine CE mark.

Well done mod on this one , it just might save someone, especially if its an electrical product or some safety related item, this country is a dumping ground for all this rubbish from the far east, the NCA dont seem to bother with issues of such an important matter .
As for E marking of vehicle electrical -electronic equipment here , these counterfeit and dodgy merchants have a great time here , no enforcement of european laws , no penalties, no one cares , but why would they ?
They get their saleries and thats all that matters.
